It's a program on Satellite TV (Bravo I think).
I was on last night after Ringside and focused on Boxing this week (although they will also show Martial Arts and MMA etc).

The fist half was devoted to Richard "The Alien" Grant V James Butler.
This is the first time I had seen the incident and quite frankly, it was a shocker. (For those that don't know, Grant beat Butler on points, a couple of minutes later while in the ring Grant goes to hug Butler, Butler sucker-punches him the the Jaw, Grant is convulsing and spitting out blood for the next 5 minutes).

Anyways, Butler has "recovered" from mental episode and hopes to fight again (although doesn't have a license yet). He believes what happened was "for the best" . He only got 4 months inside for the incident (and feels very hard done by for having to do any time at all). Grant's manager thinks Grant has not been "right in the head" since the incident.

What a complete dipstick Butler is, the guy should have his hands cut off.

The second half was Gatti v Ward. (Actual Warriors as opposed to a complete nutter).

I've seen a clip of that "final" punch and it was a corker. But what a terrible thing to do. I don't believe Butler should ever be allowed to box again. Just as Tyson shouldn't have been after his attack on Holyfield.

A corker it might have been but it was delivered in a very cowardly way, as Grant tried to embrace him in a post fight show of sportsmanship.

I heard that Butler blew up to over 200 lbs whilst in the joint and has along way to go in terms of regaining any kind of form.

I hope never to see this low life in the ring again.

It was a shocker, but I think we have to take into account that Butler was taunted and goaded throughout the fight by Grant (which I don't like to see) and it turns out was having problems outside the ring (his girlfriend wouldn't let him see his child and still won't). It doesn't justify what he did. It may help explain it.

The guy looked a good 14/15 stone. No remorse either. Complete arse.
Put it this way, I didn't take a shine to the guy.

I'd like to have seen that programme. Will they be showing it again, do you know?

It defo was Bravo. These types of channels show the same programs over and over so I'd practically die of shock if the don't show it again. It's part of a 3 episode series, repeated twice a week (but thursday WAS the repeat), so I'll guess you'll have to catch it next time it's on some time in the future.

Grant did not feature in any interviews, although his trainer did.

I didn't see the programme but i have the fight on tape, i read about it at the time in Boxing Monthly and had to order it from my trader to see what happened, it was pretty shocking. I showed all my mates who are non boxing fans we were all mesmerised. After a pretty dull match in which Butler stalked Grant for 10 rounds but failed to do any good the fight went to the cards, Grant won and went to hug and embrace Butler who landed a corker of a right hand on him. Grant was unconscious and spitting blood, the ESPN commentator (Teddy Atlas) nearly had a seizure!

What made it worse for me was that 1) I never actually saw Grant do anything too bad through the fight, unless he was talking to Butler? And...2) Butler nicknamed "The Hammer" was a massive KO puncher WITH the gloves on, so no wonder he did so much damage without them on. This is no Zuri Lawrence we are on about, the guy could punch!

Yeah I have seen that incident, although not on the programme Priff mentions.

I don't care what shit was going on in Butlers life, he don't take it into the ring. This is professional sports people we are talking about

That punch was thrown with serious intent, and he really hurt Grant with it...really hurt him.

Sorry I haven't seen this incident could someone tell me if Butler had taken his gloves off or were they still on when he sucker punched him.

Gloves where off, but hands still wrapped.
