Well Francis Luke Robinson (was going by the name Luke but had to use Francis as there is already a registered Luke Robinson fighting) made his pro debut on Saturday at the Newport Centre. He put on a very calm showing and ripped in some hurting body shots that had Craig Dyer in a lot of trouble early on. He did drop his hands a couple of times and Craig caught him with a couple of head shots but in fairness Robinson learnt early on and kept his hands up a lot better in the third and fourth rounds. At times it was like watching his dad back in the day with very fast Pitter patter flurries that although were not hurtfull punches they all scored, it was scored 40-36 and I feel this kid has the making of something special but only time will tell I suppose. What was a little annoying was he was given his own room with a TV crew from the BBC whilst the Top of the Bill had to share the dressing room with all the other Blue corner fighters... Again I suppose it does help when your dad is an ex world champion

He looked ok, far too early to tell though. He was in against Craig Dyer who has now lost 16 out of 16! ;;-)

i think its bit stupid

i know boxers that have had to put an initial between there name

im thinking with Pro Stephen smith surely there is another stephen smith out there?

Feel old now, I can remember like yesterday Reg Gutteridge mentioning Steve being a family man with his young boys having biblical names - Luke and Jacob.

How old is Luke, is Stevo in the corner?

Luke is 20 years old. His dad is training him and Kyle King who also boxed and won a four rounder on the show. Not sure if he coaches any other pros.

Very positive report on the lad here. The Pocket Rocket Dobbing was impressed! If only the lad was from Chester, Martin would have done a piece on 'The New Henry Armstrong' already

Was a good encouraging debut, yes he did drop his hands a little too often but he will learn with time... As for his own dressing room he was sharing with 2 other boxers if i remember rightly as the 'away' dressing room was split into 2

I apologise I think you are correct (there were so many people in there I just thought they were part of the BBC or family )
