i see on boxrec that the eloy perez vs luis cruz wbo title eliminator has been cancelled with perez now fighting roger gonzalez on friday.

i dont think this is an eliminator

right now the thai fighter jandeng or whatever his name has been changed to recently is the wbo and wbc no1 contender. 2 fights ago he fought for a wbc silver belt so its unsure what route he will choose for his title shot.

does anyone know the situation?? or can billy nelson who posts on here tell us if he knows anything???

ricky burns next title defence will be very interesting , i expect him to get past laryea and i expect the level of competition to be better than evenson and laryea.

will it be fana which makes most sense as ricky doesnt need to fight his wbo mandatory till september as he was the mandatory challenger when he beat martinez

cheers billy looking forward to the burns fight...will be there myself.

reason i was asking mate was because of the situation with the thai fighter who will pick burns or the jap fighter , no doubt after the fight it will become clearer

jandaeng is a decent, tough fighter. he gave marquez and luvano good workouts. i'd like to see someone win an elim, step up and challenge burns. the last time he fought a top fighter it went extremely well.

never got to see the evansen fight. some have described him as a"swedish midget". was this harsh? obviously not all 1st defenses of a world title have to be vs top names. was this like a calzaghe v ashira type of contest? did burns look strong and sharp in this one?

world scene seems to stink at super featherweight. the most interesting fights that could happen are vs brits like EBU champ foster and british lightweight champ crolla (when he's had some more good wins).

juanma lopez guns for WBO titles. got the 122 and 126-pound versions. maybe he'll want to be a 3-weight champ, like countrymen wilfredo gomez, wilfred benitez, felix trinidad and wilfredo vazquez sr. who owns the WBO title at 130...this would be an interesting fight, should anyone ever want to put it together. burns would face a major name, with the advantage that lopez has campaigned at smaller weights. maybe get a bit of apuerto rican killer reputation (given that he also beat roman martinez).

obviously amassive pipe dream right now, but an interesting (if undeveloped) angle.
