Patterson missed with two hooks, Downing ducking under them, in the moving back he went inbetween the ropes and fell back - was up in time, back facing us, but the ref must have seen something he didn't like, as he waved it off. Hard to know whether a boxer isnt protesting much due to being hurt or due to manners, but the ref is in there to protect the fighter in the end so fair play.
