Looking abit average in all honesty but he's only 20 so he has ages

he ate a lot of shots there. good learning fight for him.

Good fight- McCauley was a good opponent. They shared a round!

why didn't Farnell tell him to box????

I heard comments early on after the 1st or 2nd from Farnell tellin him 'he was lookin good' ....... when he blatantly wasn't.

Is Farnell a little over rated as a trainer or just a little inexperienced????

Looked fairly average. Seems that Gary Hyde snared the best sibling.

Everyone is entitled to an off night, esp one so young with a long way to go in the game.

Heffron looked a monster in the ams. I reckon he will still come good in the pros given time.

spot on why is it so many posters moan that young prospects are given easy opponents then winge and say they didnt do very well when they are put up against tough ones like macauley you cant have it both ways well done ronnie.

His fight tonight will teach him more than his previous 4 or 5. It's what he needs.

I thought Kevin Macauley not only showed great toughness and chin, but also showed some decent skills and was always trying to win. He was a very good opponent.

To be fair, very few look good against Macauley.

Kev is extremely hard & v few look good against him . Heffron will do better against most winning fighters. Don't knock too much. He's only just got going. Kev is tough as old boots

i was actually impressed with ronnie, its the first time ive watched him, ive read great reviews of him as an amateur, his obviously got alot to learn, he needs to be fighting 6 times a year atleast, thats see how he develops, i think arnie has alot of talent in his gym and he can take them all the way...

heffron is young & is realising that fighting tough men is diffrent to blowing away boy's. he has great attributes. but like frank said he has to learn to jab & chip away.i dont think he'd overtrained, i think he tried to hard & put more effort then what was needed to & it's hard to switch from that once committed, it's a valuable lesson.

That was the most entertaining fight of the night for me.

Watching it later on SKY Heffron seemed almost in awe of what FW was saying (which was common sense) so maybe it's just an age thing. His eyes seemed to swell up, could be a problem in later fights?

My lad Jonson Mc Clumpha had a good fight with him a few weeks ago it was Jonson 2nd fight and a big step up for his 2nd pro fight ,Kevin is a big test for any one and he comes to fight

Was impressed with Heffron, he was a bit hot headed and could have made it easier, but I liked the body shots he was whipping in, looks a good prospect. Just needs to tightwen it up and use his skills but all in all a pretty good performance for one so young against one of the better 'journeymen'.

You wont see many better journeymen than Macauley this year.Contrast him with some of the foreign crap that gets brought over.He was excellent and gave Heffron a very good learning fight.

Absolulty spot on mate. Easy knockovers will do nothing for him in the long run. It was a great fight imo with Macauley trying to win in every round. I don't know whether British journeymen are more expensive than foreign imports, but I would like to see them used as often as possible as they seem to give so much more in the ring than just being there to collect their wages.

British journeyman must be cheaper surely..4-6rounder against a home boy must be £500-£750 plus expenses(i could be well out with them figures)

Couldn't agree more - he was very durable, full of heart, always throwing educated punches.

Nothing wrong with taking a few punches in a learning fight, as long as Ronnie learns from it. Still plenty of time for him to improve, McCauley is a tough boxer who doesn't get stopped often, and it was only Ronnie's 5th fight.

Really enjoyed that fight.

McCauley is a helluva lot better than his record, if he didn't fight away from home a lot and sold more tickets he'd be classed as an outside domestic contender, he's won a Midlands strap aswell.
