Really enjoyable fight, Daws started fast landing his jab repeatedly and followed it up with combinations putting Theophane on the back foot but around the half way point Theophane started dictating the pace and landing the harder more effective shots. In the 9th Daws was put down twice though the second looked like a round the head cuff. I had it 115-111 Theophane

Still can't believe the bookies had Daws as odds on favourite

Will be interesting to see what Teophane does next, does he stay here and defend it or head back over the water? Probs the latter

Ashley Theophane ended Lenny Daws reign as British Light Welterweight champion with a dramatic second half of their title fight at Wembley.

Daws started strongly but as the fight progressed Theophane, who trains in the USA, got on top especially in the ninth round when he twice sent the Champion crashing to the canvas. He seemed like he was going to finish it off there and then, but Daws showed terrific guts and determination to last out to the final bell. All three judges gave the decision to Theophane who told Hatton TV how delighted he was to win the Lonsdale belt.

No they wouldn't!!

Theophane is a deceptionally good fighter that can adapt to different styles. Hard to nail cleanly and consistently and has an unbelievable fitness level. Just ask Daws!!

theophane is very underestimated especially his punching power,i watched him sparr a good friend of mine and i thought my mate would beat him up but it was a close fought sparr,the most noticable punch i seen of ash was his left hook and his body shots he is a good boxer and deserves to be british champ

Got to be honest I was not as impressed as all you guys, perhaps I missed something in Theophane that you guys spotted.

The 9th round turned the fight on its head, he got a 10-7 round and won the last three after that for a six point swing, he was losing the fight by a few rounds for me upto that point
Think I had him 3 rounds behind going into the 9th and although I admire Lenny Daws engine I am not a great fan so there was no bias in there.

Surely allegedly will have his reps delivering breakfast and Sunday papers to Ashley now with a nice offer to face Frankie Gavin.

prob the most unappreciated of the recent bunch...but hes a slick pro who seems to do everything really well

I can't see that at all. I think the only domestic Lww that would beat him at the minute are Khan, McCloskey and at the minute i think him & Gavin is 50/50

Genuinely saw nothing that makes me think he hangs with Gavin, he may beat Wright or Lynes but I would kind of make them fights 60/40 for Ashley at best and If Lynes has one of his jabbing night he could well win that fight.

Regarding the Gavin fight if I can get 5/6 each with the books on that as a 50/50 fight, the house is getting mortgaged.

Credit to both men, the fight had it all really.

It swung one way then the other, had knockdowns and plenty of 'chess' in each man's corner as they tried to adapt to how the fight unfolded.

Daws is an honest pro, but the relaxed Theophane stuck with his plan and took the victory. I think his power is better than his record suggests.

What struck me is that Daw's guard was at times so high, that the shorter Theophane could dip his knee and get some good leverage into the body, often at will.

Credit to Daw's fitness and determination though. He went down heavy, got back up and carried on. I do think he will come back from this one, as although he looked beaten, he did not look 'finished' at the bell - despite the bruising !

Three years in America fighting quality opposition rather than three years in Britain fighting domestic no marks? Theophane proves the point that the health of the British scene can count against its boxers (Jamie Moore is the classic example - had he been American he would have been moved on after the Jones trilogy to something bigger rather than leaving it in the ring with Macklin and Rhodes for limited reward) whereas the Americans, GBP's very best apart, tend to match tougher.

Interesting that despite now being British champ he is saying he will "defend the title once" but otherwise is heading back Stateside. If he stayed over here he would surely be a bigger name. It must have helped him being off the radar so people over here underestimate how good he is ?

On a side issue, I think its fantastic that Hennessy sports has allowed Hatton.TV access for post fight interviews so soon after the show.

I was impressed with Theopane the other night,i went for the Daws win I would like to see a rematch,it was the best match of the night..Other than that Theopane-Gavin id like to see...
