There was a Sully Shittu, who won gold medals at two Commonwealth Games. He turned pro and secured a crack at Carlos Zarate in Los Angeles in 1979 for the WBC bantamweight title but was pulled out at the last minute, even with his name on the posters, for a complete novice who lasted three rounds.
I wonder if the American-TV boys bottled it.

I once met a Turkish chap called Mustafa Kunt. Found it very difficult not to laugh in his face when he introduced himself.

At work we were quite relieved when Wayne McCullough's PPV fight against Sandor Koczak fell through. Koczak doesn't sound quite right on a promo.

I just love people with funny names. Here are a few I have encountered over the years.
Michael Gotobed (at school) you can imagine the nicknames he had.
Penney HalfPenney ( a nurse)
Basil Backlog ( a boss)
A man in a shop called Mr. Senior-Messenger
A young woman called Miss Fitt ( at work)
A woman whose maiden name was Ing. Before she got married she was Miss Ing for 20 years. ( a neighbour)
I met the daughter of cartoonist Bill Tidy once and her name was Miss Tidy, which I thought was quite amusing.
Robert Sole, R. Sole ( the cousin of a friend)
I also met a John Lennon who was a van driver, and a Spencer Tracey who was a company rep.

I do know, seriously, the Druff family who names their son Daniel..... Dan Druff.

What!?
Nobody has mentioned Gaydar Gaydarbekov yet !
Only perhaps the finest amateur of recent years with wins over Golovkin, Taylor, Lacy and Erdei.
