lol i think max might have something to say about that Alex.Hes only lost one of his last 7 and hes beat some top guys i think any of these prospects would have a simeler record if having to fight away at short notice,
I would class max more a dangerman than a journyman.

Maxwells punch that took out brian Rose was a peach. Won't say he's a journyman to be honest. Ancliff boxes Jason Hastie for Scottish Featherweight title on Friday that will be a good scrap.

Al Hamedi is probs the best of the bunch, beat Anthony Corlla amongst others.

Really depends on the definition.

Some of these fighters mentioned I think are capable of winning Regional titles (Area, Celtic/English titles)... the likes of McDonagh, King etc. Not sure they should be classified as Journeyman yet.

Thorpy well deserves to be on that list I think. After getting blown away sat I have doubted myself but you guys know your beans so thank you for helping my confidence. A few of the other guys get more on the small hall circuit. For some reason many of mine have been on the big shows. I live going in them but the lads backed by the big promoters are normally very good . You don't get a chance to pick up the wins. That said I regret none & the experience has been out of this world.

I think hamidis the best having watched a lot of guys but to get through 60 odd fights you simply have to be able to box. Danny Thorpe has some top wins, as do most journeyman. Best results might be Carl Allen, though Hamidi's win over Crolla mus be pushing him up those p4p rankings.

One of the guys on the Doncaster bill the other month was having his 100th fight. I thought I'd mis-heard so checked it on boxrec and he's only been stopped 4 times. Laight.

Kristian is a fine boxer actually. Not amazing and makes a few too many errors here and there- lack a bit of polish- but he can box and has given many fighters a good competitive fight.

He looked in good shape too.

I remember watching Mark (Lee) Dawson box on the shows years back, he always looked in dreadful shape.

I remember John Murray just beating Al Hamidi on an ITV4 show.

Defo Danny Thorpe a real good pro and a diamond outside the ring :geek2:

good points, all of em. I must have seen Laight box 10 times, like you say Matt he always looks fit as the proverbial butcher's dog- with his moving style he'd have to be- and he's got decent skills you're right i think Jeff. i also think he may be the Laight-est (sorry) hitting boxer I've ever seen.

he's given a few good efforts that I've seen, some a bit better than others. sometimes the other lad might rile him a bit and he seems to step it up and 'fight' a bit more, sometimes he's much more defensive.

i also like the fact that as many fights as he's had he still gets a bit upset over scoring sometimes, not just when he thinks he's done enough to get a draw or win either, i think i recall him obviously annoyed at being given a 60-54 card against him, and you could see his face, like 'fvck off no WAY did i not win a round there'

its an attitude you see off the likes of our Greavesy/ Dan Thorpe's been on here saying it too i think- that the 'journeymen' doesn't expect to win but come on, at least give him some fair do's, even if it is only giving him a (deserved) round in a 6 round fight.... don't know if that rings true for Johnny but I've seen it a couple of times.
