It couldn't get any worse for meaty mick could it?
Tyson fury sounded a bit frustrated about his lack of progress the other night,if he were to leave hennesey then he may as well turn it in.

He's still got Froch and Tyson. All is not lost (yet) but it's not looking good either.

I criticised mick on here and got alot of stick for it but it looks like i was right on what i said!Nearly all his fighters are leaving him *the top ones anyway* or losing

Hennessy on the way out unless he can pull a good TV deal out of the bag. Otherwise he will be out of the running for any new good prospects. Can't really blame the good ones like Murray and Barker for moving on as they desperately need decent tv coverage to get their careers further.

well he still has the number 1 but has just lost number 2, or atleast his best prospect, im a little supprised, when you look at froch's last 6 fights it should of been enough for darren to have confidence ! darren has stated he wants 3 fights this year, a euro bid, a euro defence, and a world title shot, im sure mick could of delivered that ?

Shame really but he's had some good fighters that could be popular but are unknown to the public. He hasn't been able to provide 2 of the best domestic fighters with any decent publicity (Froch & Murray) and i get about 5 emails a week about Fury!

Well I hope it's just a ruse to get Barker on Sky. The Hearns seem decent, honourable people and I doubt Mick wouldn't have known.

He probably remains Barker's manager ?

He seems to have had a good relationship with his boxers, but to be a boxer you have to box regularly. As they are class boxers they want and need to box on television. It seems a shame and I don't think any of them would have done it (leaving) easily and I'm sure they've been sounded out over the years.

Hennessey did marvelous getting the boxers he did and doing what he has done. For the most part he's been up against it, one way and another; but; it is a business; not a kibbutz; and rivals are going to do things for their own advantage.

He's been injured a fair bit recently, can't really blame his promoter for that.

I agree and it seems (from the outside and interviews in magazines) that the relationship between Darren Barker and Mick Hennessy has not been just a professional one. The two came across as being fond and admiring each other. It seems to have been one thing after another for Darren and he is strong just not to have cracked up and gone on the booze full time.

I can't really remember the exact wording, but a BN interview recently basically said he went on the piss for a while after his brother (?) died but he got over it. I can't remember if it eluded to it or not but had the impression it was church related, I could be wrong. I know that his girlfriend and kid helped. Obviously Mick's not had the best year of his life either

Interesting. I think Matchroom needed some headliners as they have quite a few sky shows coming up & seem most of the time to be borrowing either Hennessey or other promoters as main events.
Undercard of the Huddersfield bill a week on Saturday? I can dream!

Shame on Mick who always comes across as a decent guy IMO, he did have a great stable but ITV really duffed him up big time, from going to a couple of shows a month to nothing. Hopefully a few of his prospects come through and the likes of Daws and O'Donnell get back into the title mix! Hopefully Premier Sports pick up a few of his cards to keep him going!
