David Haye v Roy Jones

Just seen on Facebook that there is talk of this match being made for April.
If this gossip materialises and this fight is made then Haye's ledger since defeating Valuev is one of the most shocking records in boxing history.
A washed up Ruiz, a joke domestic clash, and now this.
What's wrong with Povetkin or Arreola?

problem is povetkin is a live opponent. arreola aint bad & i think credible as i dont really no how good haye is,as haye is just made up of self promoted hype.
if haye can get away with fighting the less dangerous for more money he will.as stated on ringside about legacy etc.he knows he aint gonna be in the record book's.i just think he's messed fan's about, chasing up escalotor's & wearing decapitated head's & declaring himself the heavyweight saviour :!: & making comparisons to holyfield.alot of people's head's were turnt & i for one was looking forward to seeing him have ago & stir up a brit frenzy & it hasnt happend now he has a strap.i now know i cant hate on haye, it's a case of hate the game, not the player.

Jones was really hyping this up when I seen him at a dinner do last November. That was the last I'd heard of it until I seen this thread.

It couldn't get much more disappointing than Haye fighting Roy Jones Jr.

I'd fear for Roy's health if I didn't think it would be really quick. Can't see it happening though.

This would be bordering on sick!
Jones's last 4 fights
Calzaghe (got absolutely battered round after round!)
Lacy
Green
Hopkins
He's lost 3 of his last 4 at lower weights, how the hell does this even nearly merit a title shot?

Surely the British board would reject! Also he not ranked currently at heavy!

How? Name a bonafide world champion who has had three laughable opponents such as Ruiz, Harrison and Jones Jnr?
I'm not talking about Haye's record before these fights as I believe he was a brave cruiserweight who took numerous risks but the three aforementioned opponents are nothing short of insulting.

Don't think the board would have much choice - if this fights being made I think the US would be the most likely venue.

If the WBA condone Jones Jnr as a suitable opponent then some serious questions need to be asked.
We all know that those in boxing can identify multiple loopholes when it seems to suit them but anyone with any ounce of decency must put a stop to this fight.

Shock horror, one of the boxing bodies will sanction a multi million pound fight involving a washed up legend! Surely there is no precedent for this!!

I would enjoy the Sky suits hyping this up.
Showing clips of Jones jr back in the day, and Jim Watt saying that Jones cn still hit.

This would never happen in a million years, surely...?
I can't believe this is even being touted.
Jones must have a death wish.

If Roy Jones wants to commit suicide, why doesn't he just check himself into Dignitas in Switizerland?
David Haye is the worst kind of opponent for him at HW.
David is almost as fast as Jones is (probably faster now, seeing as Jones is almost 656 years old) & hits about 30 times harder.
He'd absolutely pulverise Roy Jones.
Roy just needs to retire; plain & simple.

I would say a Klitschko would be worse Syntax as Haye could KO him quickly whereas Wlad would pound him all night long giving him an absolute beating and stopping him late!

The great Roy Jones will turn back the clock and pulverise Haye by attacking and destroying him from all angles with the speed of a Viper.

They're on a par, with hindsight of the Harrison fight.

Well for example pick two of any of Vitali Klitchsko's recent opponents and slip RJJ in there and it would become just as derisive.
The Hopkins fight didn't happen because Haye said he wouldn't/didn't see any need to take the fight why would he except this fight?
The Ruiz fight was a good performance btw not a blot on the record.
