Has Big Larry Been Back On Since The Fight?

Larry always seems like such a canny lad, when you read his posts. A loss like that must be pretty hard to take, but has anyone heard from him?

I always knew it was a tough fight and although i thought Larry would come through i wasnt expecting him to rush out in the first round as he did. McDermott is a decent boxer and i hate to say it but Larry played right into his hands in that 1st round when he should of been having a look and not rushing in.jake the snake wrote:Best option for Larry would be the next prizefighter .
I hope Larry comes back on here as he is a top fella
I hope hes does come back on here,he is a top fella...but this is a brutal sport!!! I cant see where he will go from here,as mentioned prizefighter could be the only decent option,Ian Lewiston would be a good fight, but i wouldnt favour him in that, forget the top brit level because he wont ever get there...keithmoonhangover wrote:BIGMARK wrote:not a bad call, i would imagine Larry will feel a bit let down with his performence when watching the fight back but he has to learn from it and get back in the ring. McDermott is a solid British title contender and I don't think winning a European title is beyond him either.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:Losing to Mcdermott who is a gatekeeper for the Brit heavys&losing in that fashion...
Somebody once said 'You can't outrain a bad diet' I don't think he is cut out for baywatch but he could get down to 16 stone easily enough - and welcome back MM! Good to see you on here again!MachoMan09 wrote:Agreed. McDermott has always been good his problem is the weight he's carrying. Even when he's fat he's got a pretty decent workrate and is far from slow; it frustrates me that he simply never bothers his arse to diet properly and make the best of his considerable talent. I'd love it if he could step it up a level or two because he is a really decent lad. And before anybody says anything about body type or he does this or that and everything else and the weight still won't come off, bollocks. If you diet properly, weight comes off; if you don't diet properly, it doesn't. As to Larry. He'll be back. Maloney was moving him at the right pace for a guy who is new to the game. Warren has a more sink or swim mentality - especially with guys who don't sell a boat load of tickets. It was a bit too soon for the McDermott fight as Larry's fundamentals still need a fair bit of tightening up. As I said in another topic, he needs to get back in the gym and box and box and box... He should also get every Earnie Shavers fight he can get his hands on and look at how Earnie used to fight and keep himself covered up.
All the best Larry, hope you learn and come backwarmachine wrote:i am here guys. And Machoman it was maloney who got the southern area council to mandate that fight, so F rank Warren had nothing to do with putting that fiht together
Good to hear from you. Though I picked John to win, you still have a massive say in the heavyweight scene, you'll be picking up your fair share of scalps in the future. No time to be despondent! You'll be back to collecting green boxes on your boxrec record soon enough!warmachine wrote:i am here guys. well didnt you hear from him when he spoke after the fight on sky tv? Or does he need to repeat himself to u personally on a boxing forum? Show some respect to the fighters, they have a lot going on at the best of times, let alone when there is a sudden upheavel in their proffesional career like larry experienced, i know the mans been on here since to reply and state all is well, but still i could have seen this thread go the way of the smigga one if it werent for everyone else being respectfulkeithmoonhangover wrote:Larry always seems like such a canny lad, when you read his posts.
