with the appropriate nod to Ezz, surely we can all think of a few fights in which one fighter distinguished himself with the efficacy of his fightplan??
yeah, so. ummm. who was it that said it's easier to pick faults than to praise?
Ummmm, Chacon boxing smart on the backfoot against Little Red Lopez, sitting back and smashing Lopez's head to fvck with huge huge counters full leverage on all of them.
Schmeling in the first fight vs Louis
keep em coming

Watson - Benn...gloves up round his face (literally cupping his cheeks), elbows tucked in...just let Benn punch himself out.

Barry McGuigan vs Bernard Taylor. Don't worry about his blinding handspeed, just keep working his body.

Barrera vs Hamed's a good shout, but eff me it's gonna be hard to top Schmeling vs Louis I. I mean, that's what you call a strategy.

I'm surprised that none of the Ali worshippers have gotten on to praise Ali's rope-a-dope strategy against Foreman.

Great choices...
Can I add
Duran-DeJesus III
and Duran-Hagler
I would also say that Douglas-Tyson. Up until then everyone thought that to beat Tyson you had to run, jab and clutch for dear life. Buster doesn't get the credit he deserves for that one.
I'd also like to add Archie Moore and Carlos Monzon who were amster tacticians in every fight they ever had.

Sambu Kalambay was a pretty good tactician, he would adjust mid-fight if necessary.

Continuing with the swithceroo nature of this thread...
Honeyghan versus Curry.
Honeyghan saw the wide set feet, the high guard and refused to get caught in the headlights. Llloyd gave him angle after angle and smashed staright through the portculis and drawbridge.

Holyfield/Bowe 2- That was the most disciplined fight of Evander's life. Though he was sparked by the after the bell exchange after the 4th.
