Niki Smedley

It was fantastic to see Niki Smedley shake off the ring rust last night and return to professional action.
Whilst I fully appreciate the opponent Behki Moyo was not up to Smedley's standards it was nonetheless a start in the route back to Niki hopefully proving he can secure a title of some sort.
I think everyone who is associated with Niki wants to see him step up to the plate and perform at the highest level and I am sure thats exactly what Dennis Hobson is going to do and thats throw Niki into some real fights which will make or break him.
Good luck pal!!!

We wanted a better opponent for this fight but in the end we were glad just to get him out,yes a lot of ppl will be very critical and think this was a chosen opponent, I think moyo was the only person in the uk available

Actually it was a good fight to watch. I enjoyed it Skill against a guy who was trying to win. Noboddy got hurt, plus the crowd enjoyed it.

An opponent was needed at short notice - sometimes you do whatever is required to make the show goes ahead - credit to both for providing some entertainment.
If an opponent withdraws at short notice - you simply will not get a 50/50 fight - I thought someone like you would know boxing!!!

Why do u think he as been so inactive, he wants proper fights like he had as an amateur, he use to have a few fights and then hed get fed up have time off then we would persuade him to fight again, then he would be boxing. Same level then the same again, he would walk away then we wo
Uld be fallin out and aftter billy smith he was gunna box in jersey for a masters and cause it was not a very good opponent we fell out and he quit again, this time he came back himself and worked closely with mark willie and although he boxed moyo,we knew he was pissed off but mark willie was straight in his head and we said the fights will come, even light welter prize fighter would be good,

To be fair i got a call from the matchmaker few days before and they were looking for a tougher opponent but my guys had all boxed the week before. So it wasnt like they were trying for a 0.20 guy but sometimes a fight is betterthan no fight.

Definitely better than no fight for all parties involved. I saw 'Becks-Tiger' against Gavin Putney, another JM, last year. I enjoyed it. Quite a violent affair. He only lost it cos he went down, and he had a good go. Well done to Moyo for saving the show-o.

Yet again Curtis Woodhouse comes onto the forum to score points in a desperate attempt to restart his own failing boxing career. Isnt it a shame he slates other boxers then fails to produce a decent result with his own fists. Go back to being a failed footballer Curtis you will probably do better playing for the local pub team.

Certainly wouldn't call Curtis a failed footballer, he was a very good player (shame he played for Blues though)
And yes he may have had recent setbacks in his boxing career but for someone who started the sport late on he has got to a very good level.
And no i'm not blowing up his arse cos he comes on he its just my opinion, the goading is a bit childish curtis. I mean he's been a good professional in 2 sports most people couldn't even dream of being a pro in 1!

Spud, you are clearly talking shit here.I would bet there are millions of kids out there who would love to fail as badly as Curtis did on the Football pitch. He had a superb career. As for the Boxing...Curtis has gone on record saying he does not mind ending up with a few losses on his record if it means he tested himself.Losing to MacDonagh is no disgrace, ask Lee Purdy and Michael Gomez. He also gave Daws and Arthur a real struggle.
Im not even slagging off Moyo as an opponent, its already been said he was the only one they could get,but remember,it was the Smedley camp who were the ones insulting Curtis, sometimes getting personal, first. If Nicky goes on to earn as much in Boxing as Woodhouse did in his failed Footballing career i would be amazed.

Yawn yawn and yawn
I have worked for Fight Academy for since 10 Sep 2004 - Ummmmm - you must be right !!!! - it seems only five minutes!!! - Las Vegas, Monte Carlo and numerous world title shows - whilst you were busy getting your knob licked by your dog whilst watching shows on your sh*t TV.
As for you Curtis despite your bullsh*t that you would do this and that - I see you have gone a bit quiet on the Frankie Gavin side of things.

Micky - look at Curtis Woodhouse record - the moment he has stepped up to remotely area title level opposition - he has failed.

spud ive gone silent on the frankie gavin front because i lost my last fight im gunna have to get back in line hopefully a couple of good wins and the phone might ring again until then ill stay in the gym and keep my head down thats the way it works pal if the fight gets made ill start calling him names again its nothing personal its just the way it is as for my record most of my fights have been 50/50 fights the opposistion at the start wasnt very good but neither was i as i got better i was stepped up in class who do you want me to fight fresh from a football pitch? im ranked in the top 15 in the country if i can pick off a few names above me in the rankings i might get a crack at the british title thats what i wanted when i started out if it doesnt work out for me then ill retire home to my 6 bed barn conversion in the middle of nowhere paid for by my failed footie career
