Middleweights, to me has always been the Premier Division. In my lifetime in the sport, ive always measured by one yardstick Johnny Prichett. To me he took some beating in the British Rankings, and yet we never saw the Best of Him, your thoughts.

You're right, Howard. He had it all but was slung out in a European title fight abroad - for nothing - when he was miles ahead and walked away from the sport in disgust. He was 26. Pritchett is one of those men with an aura about him, a man you automatically like. He lives in Spain, while we rot in the February sleet.

Middleweight has fallen under the radar of late, totally eclipsed by the talent at Super Middle.

I agree with that.

The middleweight division seemed to go out of fashion in Britain about 20 years ago.

All the top middleweights of the early 90s suddenly decided that they couldn't make the weight anymore & would campaign in the newly created super-middleweight class & it's been almost forgotten since that time.

Shame really, because the middleweight division has such a rich & celebrated history.

We (as in the UK/Europe) are getting bigger generation on generation so it's no real surprise that was was historically seen as the middle is no longer really the middle. Guys like Kaylor really struggled making middle but light heavy was always a bit of a reach.

I've never heard of Prichett (although ironically have heard of the guys he beat in title fights).
