Nathan Cleverly-Matthew Hatton

There's some Boxers with Early Record's that i would'nt imagine that they'd get that far.. Nathan Cleverly only beating Ernie Smith 39-38 on his debut, and Darren Gethin 39-38 in his second fight.. Matthew Hatton getting beat by David Kirk twice
Ashley Theophane was 7-0 after his 1st lose to a guy 0-1-3, then a 5-4-0 and drawing with Daniel Thorpe... Any other's you know?

Loads. Henry Armstrong lost his first fight by knockout and 3 of his first 4, one of the greatest of all time. Hopkins, Conn, Arguello etc all lost their first bout.

Wilfredo Gomez drew against Jacinto Fuentes who was 2-1-0 in his debut; he went 32 straight knock outs including Fuentes in a rematch.

Williams dropped a points decision to Michael Alexander. The stuff he produced was so mind bogglingly ahead of its time that the ref didn't know how to score it. A post-fight examination of his scored card showed that in Williams's round-by-round column the official had scrawled the word 'Wibble', this led to Alexander winning it despite not rising above a 9 in every single round.
A mate of mine was a stablemate of Alexanders' and was absolutely sure that it was a 6 x 2 mins and that Richard was stopped. I am aware that the boxrec records have it differently but can someone please check in Boxing News (2nd September 1997). There's a quid on it :)

Hi Martin,
One of those losses you have down as being to Kirky was against David Keir and if I remember rightly was down to Matthew being cut badly from a head clash

Nah, his record speaks for itself and he was very, very good when in his prime. His legacy matches many others and in terms of style I'd give him a shout over the likes of Robinson.
SRR was a welterweight.
