What has Haye actually done and is this just spin

Ok im looking for ward to this fight like everyone else but im i just being caught up in the Haye hype or does he actually have more than just a punchers chance?

Going through the records who has Haye actually faced who was a genuine ranked operator like Klitchko? You could state a case for Mormeck and Valuevm then it could be countered with Mormeck was past it and alot of people thought he was very lucky to get the decision over the giant.

Klitchko, although being very boring and methodical has continued to move on fighting all contenders who were ranked, albeit some not very good in a poor era for heavyweight boxing, but hes beat them and moved on.

I hope this fight is a good spectacle but i cant help but think that we are all just being caught up in the Haye media hype again, ala Audley Harrison, and are going to believe hes going to knock him out etc etc when really haye is just going in there for his pay day then retire

I think most people are caught up in the hype. Haye is a very good boxer, but I don't think he's at the level of the Klitschkos. Haye has played a fantastic game so far and will exit the sport in good health and with a huge amount of money in the bank. Happy days.

how can you say that? he might get killed in his next fight, just like any other boxer.

The chances of Haye getting killed in this fight are roughly equivalent to Matthew Modine playing him in his life story.

Amazing to think - all of the hype I kept thinking Klitchsko and comfortably. The minute it is signed (well sort of signed) and Haye talks on Sky I am swaying more to Haye.

I'm just playing the percentages game, like if I said I was going to go to the toilet today. The chances are, I'll be able to.

The majority of boxing deaths happen at the lower weights, where weight draining is prevalent (less fluid protecting the brain).

Haye will destroy him. He has one of the biggest punches in world boxing and is faster than anybody Wlad has faced. He wont know whats hit him. Haye KO by the 7th.

So many people on here were calling Haye a coward. I think him travelling to Germany to fight has proved he is definitely not a coward

maybe don't use the word ''will'' then when you mean ''my unifirmed opinion which is not based on any kind of factual evidence but is linked to me going to the toilet somehow''

Have always maintained he should Vitali first as think he's there for the taking now against a fast and mobile HW.

What I have noticed is that the only two times Haye had fought cautious (not counting that earlier fight when he held back purely to get 12 rounds under his belt) came against super-heavyweights - Valuev and Harrison. Coincidence or conspicuous?

Yes Haye has a lot of Hype around him and has not beaten anyone of note at HW yet

But then again neither has Wlad, We are talking about a man who got sparked by Ross Puritty , Lamon Brewster and Corrie Sanders
and not the invincible super human athlete that you would think some people were describing.

Haye would imo have beaten all of Wlad's previous opponents,
so it's a Big step up in class for BOTH fighters not just for haye.

If he can guarantee that no boxer will ever get killed, seriously injured or suffer some kind of brain injury in his next fight then I will agree with him all the way. Until then, let's keep it real.

Exactly. I think all he's saying is that you shouldn't play down the risks involved in professional boxing.

I really don't see Haye winning this one, I can see him eating Klitschko's long straight shots all night long! Even of Haye does slip the jab he has to leap in to get a shot on target and Klitschko has a very good, underrated defence that I can't see Haye penetrating. People look at the Valuev fight and think Haye can deal with big men, but Valuev didn't use his height he didn't pop out his jab, he just sort of pushed it out whereas Klitschko will be popping it out and not letting David get set

X 2.

Also, I think it would generally put the shits up little bro' to see BigKlit lose -- I don't think Wladdy would cry or anything but I do think he's not as clever as Vitali & seeing big brobot beaten would make him far more likely to go in there & try & take David's head off (which I think would give Haye a good chance of landing one flush on him that he didn't see coming).

My main worry in the announced bout is that Haye just stands off & tries to play the waiting game to see if Wladdy makes a mistake, but by the time the big bugger makes one Haye'll be so tired from frantically circling/getting the patented Klit-Hug-&-lay-on, David won't be able to do it.

Hope I'm wrong, obviously.

No way is even an old and injured Vitali a better choice of opponent. Wladimir has been chinned by boxers with less speed and power as David.

It's a puncher's chance for him to beat Wladimir, but a very good one.

Wouldn't surprise me, especially with him being so injury prone. Trouble is, if Haye KO's Vitali, his brother will shit himself into retirement methinks.

Good points, i know where you are comming from, but i think we need to be fair to Haye though in that he has more than just a punchers chance, he is a very skilled fighter with great accuracy and power.

In this fight, if it goes past the 6th round, his stamina will be his biggest weakness, he will be very vulnerable down the stretch. Wlad can be gun-shy though, so if Haye can rattle him a few times, he might put Wlad into defensive mode which could see it going the 12 rounds, but 12 rounds seem very unlikely in this fight.
