Chava & the Pretty Boy. I truly am open to all cases here.

Thoughts?

Floyd was spectacular at that weight and would be too big and fast for Sal in my estimation. Not that Sanchez couldn't have carried more weight, but this is the wrong style for him to do it against. I'd give him a much better chance against Arguello or Chavez. I honestly can't find an advantage for him in this fight. Floyd by dominant decision.

Sanchez was supreme against guys who came at him; guys who moved away, not so much.

The issue here is that Floyd is much, much bigger... I'm pretty sure he'd never have made 130 if he'd have been around back then.

I love Sanchez, but he took too many punches & it is unlikely he'd have got near the faster & much more skilful FMJ.

FMJ by unanimous decision.

Agreed it's hard to imagine too many people being able to outbox Mayweather at 130 pounds, his superb defense and well timed attack would be hard for anyone to overcome, and have yet to be overcome at any other weight class for that matter ( with the exception of the 1st Castillo fight ). Basically if Mayweather is gonna be beaten, I think it's gonna take an aggressive boxer-puncher to get it done. Salvador Sanchez while he is a boxer-puncher prefers to counterpunch, Mayweather almost never gives counterpunching oppurtunities, I'm sure he'd make Sal lead and therefore he'd have the edge in there. Floyd by Unanimous Decision.

No he wasn't. Floyd was never a big weight drainer. He'd usually be around 135 or 136 on fight night at 130, and I'm sure Sanchez would be a stronger 130 than 126 given his height and frame.

That said, Floyd should win this. Floyd was more open to be hit at 130, which would allow Sanchez some nice countering opportunities, but for the most part, Sal would be playing catch-up as he tried to pin down Mayweather and Floyd would intelligently pick his spots of attack.

Mayweather by close decision.

Sorry, I know this topic is dear to your heart but there is no way Sanchez could have ever have fought as a welter. Floyd has been a successful welter.

Same day weigh in and Floyd would be too drained to win. 48 hours and Sanchez would be as lively as Marquez (don't tell me Floyd wasn't bigger than him).

I'm talking about actual size, not potential size. At 130 lbs. Floyd simply wasn't as big as he is today, his body has changed in that he has a clean 15+ lbs. of muscle on his former self. Yes, he eventually became a old-school Welterweight (as opposed to a weight draining one), but at 130 he was no bigger than your average old-school Lightweight.
