I was looking through some fighter records and thought how awesome it would have been had Jirov and JC Gomez had faced off at cruiser in the early 2000s.

I think it would have been a great fight and the biggest fight at CW since Holyfield.

Whitaker & Trinidad first had the rumour mill going about a meeting in 1995, & Whitaker was again being talked about again the following year, as an opponent for Quartey.

Perhaps the saddest was Johnson avoiding Langford during his championship years.

Always wanted to see Michael Dokes and Greg Page get it on in early to mid 1982.Also, Milton McCrory and Marlon Starling from 1983-1985 would've been a helluva matchup.

Arturo Gatti v Ricky Hatton would be have been quite a good fight to watch after Ward trilogy, is the big one that stands out for me, along with Lennox Lewis v Riddick Bowe in the early to mid 90s and even Mike Tyson v Bowe after Tyson got released from prison.

I would have liked to have seen my two favorite fighters, Frazier and Patterson, go at it.

Apparently it came closer to happening than I ever knew. I recently read that MSG was really trying to put Frazier-Patterson together for Joe's first defense after the FOTC, but it just didn't happen.

Frazier would most likely have knocked out Floyd, but I would have loved to have seen Patterson get one last shot.

There was talk of Terry Norris stepping up to middle to fight Jones Jnr at one point but I don't thnk it was too serious, unlike the talk of JC Chavez facing Norris at a catchweight of around 150lbs.

I just see 150lbs as being a step too far for JC Chavez in his pomp. He would have the extra power I just feel that had the fight been made he would have run out of gas as he would have struggled with the extra weight having started down at Super Feather etc., plus the 3 inch height disadvantage would cause problems as Chavez tries to get inside.

Chavez would've been brutalised.

True, but I felt when I mentioned Hatton-Gatti regardless if Hatton was not yet marketable at the time it would still have been a big name on the slate had it been made and Hatton had won and that would have attracted plenty of attention though with the networks. And I agree Goodnight Irene, I too if I was in Norris' situation would not want to break my balls to satisfy his demands, if he wants to fight me, he has to come to my playground. Also how about before he got his backside handed to him Jeff Lacy v Mikkel Kessler with the IBF and WBA belts up for grabs in late 2005 early 2006. Kessler defeats Lacy and then has the bargaining power to drag Joe Calzaghe into HIS backyard perhaps and what could have happened to that fight then?

Back in the seventies the whole wbc vs wba thing was an issue. Fights that should have been made werent.
A big one that comes to mind was Carlos palomino vs Pipino Cuevas. Everyone wanted to see it. I dont knowif it was ever even discussed realistically.

Chavez would've been brutalised.

It would have been a horrible mismatch. DK was harsh at times, but even he wouldn't let that slaughter go ahead. As he said "Man O'War was a great racehorse, but if I put a extra 20 pounds on him they would say I was cruel to the animal. So dont ask me to do that to Chavez."

Norris wouldn't have had any trouble making 150.

I think Calzaghe would have schooled Kessler if the fight was in Mikkel's living room

Yeah they had a catchweight of 150 for Taylor, from memory. Makes you wonder why he didn't really try making 147 at any time?

I think he would have for a big fight, but Oscar, Pea & Tito probably weren't real interested.

By the looks of it, we will probably be able to add Pacquiao vs Mayweather fairly soon.

Archie Moore V Ray Robinson. Ray admitted that he met Archie to discuss this fight but there was not enough money in it.

Tyson V Witherspoon. The only 80's contender of note that Mike did not face.

Eubank V Julian Jackson. After Jackson starched Graham Eubank said he get revenge for Graham. What if he had got the chance?

Robert Duran -v- Aaron Pryor (140) 1981

Herol Graham -v- Nigel Benn (160) 1990

Those are 5 fights that could have happened & that I wish had happened or would like to have seen.
