just watched groves degale on ringside, 2 things really, 1. was it me or did degale keep loosing his words and looked abit nervous ? and 2. i think groves come across as a gentleman and i think 99% of great britain will be behind him to ko this rude degale bloke. still maintain degale will be favorite and rightly so, but god i want groves to shut him up !

I think Degale is incredibly childish, and Groves came across a lot better. I really hope Groves turns in the performance of his entire career, because thats what it'll take. imo

i have never, ever seen a sportsman come across as a bigger prat than James Degale did tonight.
Still, these boys are selling the fight lovely so fair play to em!
(My heart says Groves but my head says Degale all day long)

Degale has to be the biggest PR disaster of all time as IMO he came across a child and a complete prat. Someone said before he looked nervous and i have to agree as he struggled at times to find his words. Groves came across really well and a real gent (surely a Adam Booth plan), it seemed he to me he got under Degale's skin which was quite amusing seeing it was obviously what James was trying to do but failed big time.
I concur. Hope to fornicate that Groves pulls it off.

Easy to get under DeGales skin, just don't give him full attention. A bit like Cotto ignoring Mayorga, it would kill him if Groves doesn't enter into his games. He did come across like a total prat, beyond his rehearsed lines there's no wit. Shame, I thought he had some charisma in his cockiness.

Degale has absolutely zero class. So childishly rude and offensive. Groves showed so much character not to smack him there and then.
So hope Groves beats him

Until Degale beat Smith and Groves beat anderson (unconvincingly) i thought groves would blow him away. Now personally i think degale will destroy him.
I find degale more amusing now than annoying, that attitude will sell tickets to be honest.
Most people will be hoping to see him get wiped out tho! Lol
Loved it when degale slaughtered groves' tie.

but he only did that when Groves stood up to accept the bet which saw Degale back down pretty, i think Groves has really got into Degale's head. I wouldnt be suprised if Adam Booth was behind the idea of acting the gent, staying cool and wearing suit as it all made Degale look without class. I loved Groves' Audley Harrison reference which actually had me laughing out loud.
Mark I watched the footage of the Degale-Groves presser and Groves was very quiet and Degale was giving him all kinds of stick about his suit etc and I felt sorry for Groves as he has never came across as a natural talker, never mind trash talker and seemed to be getting a hard time at the presser.
But, the transformation in the Ringside show really surprised me and he definitely took a wide UD in the ringside studio. Brilliant stuff.

That's really not a good comparison at all.
Degale made a bit of a fool of himself, but he made me laugh when he asked him 'where did you get that tie, you fool?'. He doesn't suit that act, he's not sharp enough. Still, I'm with him on his prediction.
well mocking him being ginger is being racist to how he was born and looks mate, was a bit much thats all i thought, good build up and good fight, reckon deagle wins but hes a tosser lol

It's not racism - it's not very nice but it is what it is. The racist equivalent would have been calling him an 'ugly white bastard' or a 'honky' and I doubt DeGale would do that as he has a white mum.

The type of fighter who is going beat DeGale is not going to outslick, unless we are talking top, top elite of the divisions and even that is debatable.
No, he is going to be a come forward, relentless, busy type of fighter.
Question is: Can Groves beat him by outslicking him? If not, is he versatile enough to out-muscle him and push him back while taking some stick, in return?
I like George and DeGale, so as long as its a good fight, I dont mind.
PS Agree though, James can act like a proper tool, sometimes. James, if you read the forums, just chill, man. I think most accept your a good fighter.
I also think George has a few more levels he can go up, whether its enough, I really dont know. He's got bottle to burn, and that counts for a lot. So I would not rule him out, at all.
