If it's not PPV it doesn't happen

Froch Vs Johnson will prob get added to the PPV if it's staged May 21st as is being rumoured

murray leaves hennesey, then hennesey get a fighter on a ppv sky/warren event that murrays not even on ! cant see it.

Looks like a good card - DeGale vs. Groves and Cleverly vs. Braehmer

It's up to SKY what they show as part of a double header PPV, not the promoter of one half of the PPV.

They've shown fights from more than one promoter on the same PPV before now.

I read on the BBC that Hopkins v Pascal II is on the same night, could that maybe be added?

I cant see Murray being on the bill, has a 12 rounder in three weeks and if that goes the distance (which it shouldnt) then i can no way see it going ahead.

I'm sure the likes of Brook, Chisora v Fury, Bellew and Gavin will be added to the bill, on FW's yesterday they were saying it's going be a monster bill.

i understand that, but everyones leaving hennesey as he cant get his fighters sky coverage, then murray and barker dont get included on a part warren part hennesey show, just seems funny ! and if the ppv sales are high who gets credit ? it must get messy.

Isn't Barker with Matchroom? He's fighting Spada on 30th April already, so unlikely to appear on this card.

It's not a part FW/MH show? It's a FW show and a MH fighter appearing in a Showtime tournament.

SKY will pay FW what they think it's worth or more likely, they give him a % or share of the sales, the same way they do to Haye when he fights. With the Showtime/Froch fight, they will pay Showtime a fee for the feed and incorporate that into their costs for the PPV. Pretty simple. It won't be that much, but it gives SKY an extra "something" to be able to sell to the customer who is buying the PPV. Plus it means they broadcast for more hours in one transmission i.e. from 8pm through 'til 4 or 5am, rather than 8-12pm and then stop transmitting until the PPV is re-broadcast at 9am and 2pm in a shorter 2-3 hour package or whatever the following day. That means they get more revenue from adverts/advertisers.

ok ok, i know sky can choose who they want to show, but it still seems funny to me that carl froch (a hennesey fighter) could be appearing on a sky sports ppv show, when his never done before, his last 5 fights have been great fights against great fighters and where on channels joe public have never heard off, since hennesey lost the itv deal, murray and barker have left hennesey, then a MASSIVE night of boxing takes place with warren fighters and hennesey fighters on the same ppv package, and murray and barker are no where to be seen ! i know murrays topping a small hall show, and barkers now with matchroom fighting for his old euro strap, but what im trying to say is, sky have finally shown interest in a hennesey fighter whos still with him, if they (murray and barker) had shown a little bit of loyalty towards hennesey they could of also been on the ppv event in bigger and better fights ! thats all im trying to say.

I thought Haymaker had won the right to stage Groves v Degale...how can this now be on a FW show? Am I wrong/have I missed something?

Nothing, you seem to be struggling with the basic mechanics of how boxing promoting and TV works.

We'll save the discussion for when the PPV/bill actually comes off.

Think of it this way, if you've ever moved jobs, you don't keep going back to your old employer all the time. Your current one might start to ask what you're doing.

Hen's TV stuff is his problem. Adam Smith has gone on record as saying he would like to show more of Froch on SKY. That's what he's doing (and THAT is why Froch may be on SKY, not because of MH's amazing promoting skills). I really don't see the issue here? MH's contract with ITV is dead in the water. He's unlikely to get one with SKY because he doesn't really have much clout or a huge base of fighters in order to be able to negotiate such a contract. His fighters are slowly one by one leaving him to go with a promoter who DOES have clout and DOES have a contract with SKY. It's really the only platform to get on TV with in the UK.

As SKY said themselves a while ago - The smaller promoters need to work together more often and more easily in order to get on TV.

"Been told the Carl Froch vs Glen Johnson Super Six semi may not take place May 21. Other dates possible up to June 11".

In the press conference Warren said that Booth and himself came to an agreement that he would stage it.
