I saw a twitter message last night whereby it seems haye is setting up some sparring with dirrell for groves,I dont think you could get a better sparring partner to prepare for degale in all honesty.

Yes and no. If Dirrell really bests him in sparring then it could really damage his self-confidence, which would hardly constitute ideal preparation.

But has the perfect style for Groves to prepare and it will never do any harm sparring with world class fighters

True but you have to get the best possible sparring for a fight of this calibre,I dont think dirrell getting the better of him in sparring would damage his confidence too much myself because he knows that dirrell is a proven world class fighter who has beaten and given very good fighters very tough fights.

That was my first thought. So I guess his regular blackouts, that he was talking about, have suddenly stopped? It seems as though they must have stopped immediately after the TV interview in which he talked about them, in order for him to be ready for sparring already.
I can't believe people think Dirrell was being genuine. The mind boggles.
As for the sparring, like Deserter said, as long as it doesn't knock his confident it's fantastic. Dirrell is faster than DeGale, so Groves' timing will have to be top notch.

And congratulations on completely ignoring my point. Of course it can do harm sparring world-class fighters on occasion. If you get humiliated in a sparring session it hardly constitutes ideal prep by any criteria.

dirrells speed is good but i cant see george pushing him through the neccesary gears to gain from it imo.dirrell is a better mover then degale but degales timing & awareness are great.

i dont think Dirrell will take liberty's in sparring as he has nothing to prove, i think this is a fantastic opportunity for groves and if it all comes together i can see him doing a number on DeGale, but what ever happends this is going to be a good fight maybe even a best of 3 ??

I think it also had alot to do with the money that fight could generate in a year or two down the line outside the super 6 tourney.
