good fight. alvarez needs to earn that title, winning a vacant crown vs a domestic/euro welterweight, in a catchweight he didn't make weight for. can rhodes get the fight, and if so can he win it?

i think rhodes should wait to fight someone like bundrage but he claims hes got other things lined up and they dont involve rhodes abd i think ryan as much as i like him i dont see him winning saul alvares or cotto best bet is bundrage..

Bundrage would be a better fight, but Bundrage is fighting Sechew Powell again :-

If Bundrage wins, I wouldn't be surprised to see him fight winner of Cotto - Margarito II

Tough fight for Rhodes, he struggled with Moore's pressure so I can't see him dealing with Alvarez who is abetted combination puncher, more accurate and hits harder than Moore. Alvarez is a real talent and for him this would be a cracking learning fight for him but IMO he would have too much for Rhodes and stop him round about 10

Ok alverez is good but so is Ryan. he is a matured big hitting light middlerweight . Look what cotto,s brother rattled alverez with ??? Am not been funny but Ryan hits harder and is a much better schooled boxer/puncher. what ever road ya want to go down either way this fight is in Mr Rhodes "hands" come on Ry u can do this for your ever present fans wot a guy

dont disagree with what u said you are right but still think ryan should not jump in the deep end alvares vs rhodes would be better a bit later on if he captures another title.. true fan and believer off ryan thats a good thing mate!!

I think Alvarez will outclass Rhodes here, winning a wide on points or even late stoppage.

I feel Rhodes is overrated since his Moore win where Jamie gassed after looking like the man in charge.

i would actually fancy ryan for this one. I was talking to my coach the other day about how i thought in his heyday he would have taken alvarez. Jawaid khaliq by the way. Alvarez just didnt move his head, at all. and mathew hatton was too small or inexperienced at that level to take advantage of it. some one who could move a little better and land respect earning punches would cause alvarez nightmares. Rhodes fits that description. Id even say the bradley pryce of 4 years ago would do alavarez. all it requires is an awkward style imo

Ryan seems a lovely bloke and I'd be delighted if he did it but think he's a level below Saul. And his punch resistance is less than stellar. Alvarez in 5.

Ryan can beat this guy no doubt just needs to keep to his game plan and box him ... Ryan by late stoppage :geek2:

if rhodes can do it, this is a great opportunity vs a guy whose face seems to fit.

rhodes used to be a middleweight and alvarez fights mostly welters/light welters - maybe he can make an impact.

Just be nice to see Rhodes get one last shot at the big time. Again, all the momentum from the Moore fight has dissipated sadly. Not been busy enough but wouldn't bet on him not turning Alvarez over. I wasn't overly impressed with him against Hatton.

Alvarez makes a lot of mistakes for someone so highly touted. Definitely talented, flashes of brilliance even, but he's far from the complete article.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Rhodes were able to live with him, maybe even teach him a thing or two.
