Its easier to tell u the worst.... Any combo of ian darke, glen mcrory, adam smith and ...
John rawlings was a tremedous radio play by play man and he teamed well witth duke mckenzie but no so well others on tv.
Since jim watt (who seems to have ditched his 80s moaning mode)is the best colour man on tv.....its basically about building it around watt....
I like the 3 man idea copied off hbo...so reluctantly id go with ian darke leading the line as he is better without mcrory.....so darke paired with watt and id have mcguigan in the lederman scorecard role with barry restricted to 3 interjections during the fight and for the 3rd commentator id have ricky hatton

Jim Watt is the best, he tends to hold it together.
Adam Smith....appallingly bad....despise his growling, forced delivery.
Ian Darke is decent, no real issues with him.
John Rawling, atleast is knowledgable and comes across, pretty well, imo.
Glenn McCrory is the cliche man and just tends to agree with whoever else is commentating.
Watt, Rawling and Darke, in that order, for me.

Got to be honest, we can moan all we like about persons and performances but without the Sky guys and there channel our sport would be in so much
trouble, we get the odd few fights on other channels and thats it.
The guys are all dedicated and give it everything they have, in this day and age to have things getting better (as they undoubtedly are) is a rare things what with
financial restraints etc.
Think we need to start supporting it a bit more really, Say what you like about Adam Smith but since the guy took over, Ringside has improved beyond belief and
they are attempting to get us better quality action.
It don't always happen I know that and sometimes the quality still leaves a bit to be desired but lately I seem to be seeing more competitive fights than I did before.
Just a view but without them where would we be.l

Bob Mee and Darke.
If you count Mee, that is.

Darke, and a toss up between Watt and Woodhall.
McCrory always seemed a little out of his depth to me and didn't add a lot of colour

PS Mee is always insightful, and he's quite amusing with Holdsworth, love the way he drags him along with him like an excitable puppy, keeping him in check.
Their enthusiasm is terrific.

Not sure that Jim Watt has dropped all his moaning
My complaint is that most of them just talk too much and tend to be repetitive
... as for Holdsworth isn't he just Alan Partridge with a bow tie and a waistcoat?

Darke McCrory for me too.
Tend to work well together and I like both their styles.
Not sure what it is but Duke McKenzie just grates on me for some reason.
And although not strictly a commentator I do like listening to Johnny Nelson's views before and after fights as well.

Whoever described McCrory as the "cliche man" really...hit the nail on the head. He's one of many tv sports pundits who goes with the flow, dishing out weak analysis and endless platitudes (see, eg, practically every football pundit). Back in the studio Jonny Nelson, another man you have to respect for his achievements in the ring, is exactly the same.
People like (the much maligned - wrongly in my view) Jim Watt, McGuigan and Woodall are on a different level. They are insightful and put thought into their analysis. They actually critique the action in front of them, regardless of who it is. Sometimes this makes for awkward moments, particularly with McGuigan, who can be a bit prickly (eg I recall the time Dean Powell criticised his man's stoppage and McGuigan said "I respect Dean Powell, but he's never thrown or taken a punch in his life").

I don't care for Barry, and would be happy if he was left off.
But whatever people's thoughts about who's best/worst, Sky should *never* put Barry and Johnny on together: they never let each other finish, and it seems they don't much care for each other. Very frustrating to watch the two of them constantly cutting the other off.

Darke, watt and woodhall. Overall i actually think we are pretty lucky with sky boxing coverage. Look at all the painfully bad football commentators and pundits (i watched half the world cup with the sound off) and it makes the sky boxing team look great!

Smith should not be let out of the studio, i'd like to see a lot more of Bob Mee, he is one of the most knowledgable in the game.

Nice to see Ed have a go the other day, but when you talk about the Sky payroll that meant another person doing the intereviewing - way over the top. I think for that one they had.... on the show - now wait for it.
Dave Darts
Barry McGuigan
Adam Smith
Richie Woodhall
John Rawling
Jim Watt
Bob Mee
Spencer Oliver (I think)
Ed Robinson
and this new interviewer.
How many times LESS is more - more Watt please, he's offers soo much and is so articulate.

Darke and Watt, though Watt does tend to irritate me sometimes when he alters his opinion on a fight when he realises he's wrong. But still I can't think of a pair who I like listening to more.

Darke and Watt for me too, Darke is the heir to Harry and Reg, the best commentater by a street.
I also like McCrory and Richie Woodhall.
As much as I don't like his Ian Darke impersination when he's commentating I'm delighted Adam Smith is the boss, anyone notice that there's hardly a week now without a good scrap on Sky? And I'd venture Groves and DeGale would have gone on seperate paths without Smith's input.

Darke and Watt.
Its getting a little farcical though on Sky with so many people.
Have a pool of 5 and leave it at that.

I'd like 4 x Johnnie Nelsons.
One on each side of the ring.

Woodhall and McCrory best personally. Jim Watt is the worst can't stand him
