I thought that it might be interesting to start a catch all "Where Are They Now" thread for British fighters.
I'll start, James Cook (
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer) former British and European Super Middleweight Champion is now a youth worker in Hackney and was awarded an MBE a few years back in recognition of his work.
An article from the
Independent on him. It was published at the end of 2007.

The site for the Pedro Youth Club, where Cook works.

An interview with Cook that took place on Steve Bunce's radio show at the start of last year.

Last saw him outside a nightclub in Straetham arguing with John Mugabi over £50.

Dyer had a massive punch and was very fierce; I wonder if he's calmed down any?

Andy Holligan. I was a big fan back in the day and his fights at the Everton Park Sports Centre had great atmospheres. I remember not long after Andy had become British champion he was due to box in a non title fight in Manchester at, I think, the Free Trade Hall. My mate and I bought tickets on the strength of Andy boxing only for him to pull out with an injury and I remember ringing the promotion company, which the late Phil Martin had something to do with, and Phil Martin actually answered the phone. I said "Is Andy Holligan injured and off the bill?", to which he replied "Yeah. He's here now as a matter of fact, do you want to speak to him?". To which I totally paniced and said "Er no, no thanks" and Phil Martin just burst out laughing!

Holligan was very good from being young; he beat Ekubia who was a real handful. Holligan was well schooled and stronger than he looked like he should've been ; hope he's doing ok.

Henry does a bit of roofing and plays a lot of golf.He has also started training a few guys at ex-pro Ron Hopley's gym in Ripon. He was training Leeds Rhino's coach for a charity white collar bout.He is taking more interest in boxing now than he has done for years and has a few sons just about to start competing.Whats his cousin's name?

I did ask awhile ago and didn't get anything back, but I would really like to know what happened to Yuri Ramanov, managed by Philip Fondu, the lad was geniune world class and has all but disappeared, which is a huge shame given his immense talent.
That boy easily has the skills to rule Europe and definately win a world title. Such a waste.

Najib Daho was killed in a car crash. Quite a few years ago now.
Tony Velinor is a mate of mine. He lives in Enfield and is doing very well. Does a lot of personal training and is involved ina kids recreation business.
Tony os a fit as a fiddle. God knows how he ever made light middle. He is masiive. 14 stone and not an ounce of fat.
