Apparently Froch vs Johnson - NOT on Sky

Whoever makes decisions at Sky should be sacked immediately.

We've got our best fighter in a major title fight..... not on telly.

Yet they'll put any old crap from Mismatch Maloney on SFN and crappy Prizefighters too.... then a million and one pundits too.

Not happy at all.

Rant over!

Would be very disappointed. Froch deserves to be on Sky. I thought it was supposed to be on the Degale/Groves & Cleverly/Braemer PPV? Have tickets to that, was hoping to watch Froch out somewhere, has anywhere in London regularly picked up his Primetime fights? (Casinos, Rileys etc?)

Actually it's surprising that Sky are not giving Froch coverage... Each time I watch ringside there is an article on either Kahn/Haye/Burns, but hwy this notable omission?

Froch has proven himself, is a 2-time world champion, current WBC Champ and has the prospect of a unification superfight cominh up.

I just don't get why they aren't with him?

The best in Britain right now and he still gets overlooked!

It's a mystery. He is involved in genuinely exciting, well matched fights with world class operators and from what I have seen, he holds more intelligence than the rest of our headline acts, speaks well and is a bit of a character who isn't afraid to chat a bit too.

Really is a mystery.

He should be a household name.

Has he been overlooked or is he being over priced by his promoters?

I'm sure Sky are savvy enough to know that a Froch fight will generate decent viewing figures, but they shouldn't be held to ransom and I'm sure they will not be prepared to pay over the odds. I can't believe that Froch isn't on Sky simply because they don't want him, I think maybe the economics of it don't stack up. If that's the case, it's surely the responsibility of Team Froch to be a little more accommodating with their demands?

Its probably not team Froch being demanding. More like team sky being the demanding ones. Froch needs this deal, and they know it. They are more than likely offering peanuts to screen his fights.

Absolute disgrace if they don't get his fights. I just wish Sky would stop pratting about and get Froch on - they look stupid. I put up with mediocre cards and ridiculous mismatches. I pay £22 a month for Sky Sports, and boxing is the only sport I watch on it. On top of that, I've recently forked out £15 quid for the crappy Haye v Harrison bill, £15 for Amir Khan v Maidana (as far as I'm concerned, the UK undercard should have been free) and now I'm expected to pay £15 to watch a british title fight (albeit a good matchup) and a world title challenge from Cleverley. Does this mean Cleverly is PPV material? Not in my eyes. Not until he proves he's world class, which he hasn't yet.

I think Sky need to release a few promoters from their cushty contracts and start dictating a bit more as to which fights they show.

If that's the case, the answer is simple - don't pay for it. I assume you are in charge of purchasing Sky Box Office so you can protest against Skys decision making in the most effective way possible by denying them revenue. If enough people do this, they will be forced to reconsider. As it is almost everyone who complains about the cost and quality of PPVs does so having complained about the card in the build up and then chosen to spend their own money on the event. Sky don't force people to buy a PPV. And if you think that punter power is ineffective look at the short-lived life of PPV football. No one bought it so it lasted barely a couple of seasons. If we stop paying for the fights, they will stop charging for them.

After the Haye Harrison farce, i will never buy a PPV from SKY again unless it's Pacman - Mayweather or Haye and a Klit...

If they get Froch on there... then I will continue to support the SKY bandwagon, but if there is no froch on SKY, then they will potentially only ever get another £29:98 out of me.

I say potentially as there is not much likelyhood of either of the two above fights mentioned really happening anyway...

Perhaps Primetime have offered a deal people cannot refuse.

I will disagree that Froch should be a household name - he has had more terrestial TV coverage than most, right the way and including world title fights. Don't forget his fights with Taylor and Dirrell were on delayed at a good hour on ITV.

Something has always been "a miss" when it comes to Froch and connecting with the public. Whats his ticket sales ability outside of Nottingham?

I am fornicating sick of this now.

Sky, I hope your reading. If you don't televise this fight. You are pudenda. Absolute. Unbridled. Shit pudenda.

Has a date or venue for Froch even been confirmed?
Or is this someone jumping to conclusions becuase it might not be part of the May 21 PPV?

I thought having him on ringside was a positive sign that we would be seeing him on sky fighting very soon. Hopefully this announcement is just that.

With regards to PPV, we are all huge boxing fans but people have to stop themselves being mugs and paying out for lame shows. I'll watch any fight going because I love boxing but if the PPV doesn't represent value then i'm not paying for it. The only way to improve the quality of the PPV's is to stop giving your money to the ones that clearly do not deserve it.

I'd rather just avoid the result for a few hours and watch it ninja style. ;;-)

Don't pay for garbage!

If it is June 4th,no doubt set by Showtime, then this will rule Sky PPV out of it.They already have April 16th,May 21st and June 25th/July 2nd and they surely cant run with another in between.

Just bump Haye.

He'll find an excuse not to fight Klitschko soon (again) and will carry on wasting all our time.

Sky are getting flak here when the reality they were all set for the May date.

Showtime are the one pulling the dates around... obviously Sky have set dates already to play with and a moving target is difficult to deal with.

Not to mention they wanted to give a proper ringside coverage to it - and still we don't even have a venue announced.

Also you'd likely find it ends up on Premier Sports ahead of Primetime - if Sky don't get it.

All is not lost .....YET.

I'm guessing this fight will be on Primetime. It's very disappointing that Sky haven't backed the Super 6.

To some extent it's been brushed under the carpet here. With Froch-Johnson taking place in Canada & it not being on Sky we'll not here to much about this fight which is a massive fight.

Not wanting to look beyond this fight but Froch is favourite and I like him to win this fight & Ward to beat Abraham surely they have to show the final.
