Haye rumored to become "Super champion."

There is talk about the WBA declaring David Haye as "Heavyweight Super Champion" and having two lesser boxers fight it out for their "ordinary" Heavyweight title.

What a Bunch of Anuses already have two super champions ( John and Gamboa) in the featherweight division. How long before this disease spreads upstream?
The WBA was once regarded as the gold standard of titles. It is now becoming a joke.

i think they made Cotto super champ as well. I thought the rule was you only became super champ if you unified the WBA with another title?

One becomes Unified champ. After X amount of defences they're elevated to Super champ. It's only a matter of time, like WBC it'll ditch Interim & call it Silver title

The WBA are terrible. Have a scan down this list and see how many "World" champions the WBA has: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cu ... _champions

It was bad enough a few years ago, but now it's almost impossible to keep track of the title holders.

Henry Armstrong held the World Featherweight, Lightweight and Welterweight title at the same time.

Can you imagine the clowns on high allowing that now?

So what would happen if Haye was to lose his 'super' title?

Would he then be relegated to being champion of the 'normal' world then? :-? :oo

Getting ridiculous, isn't it? It was good enough for Muhammed Ali, Joe Frazier and George Foreman just to be World Heavyweight Champion and they beat better competition.

Maybe they can chuck in a "Marvel" title, or a "Bat" title.

Yes, it's either through unification, or 10 defences, or, in Cotto's and Amir Khan's cases, just because they feel like it.
