Is it just me who thinks John MacDonald is a far better announcer then Micheal Pass and that guy F.W uses, I'm surprised he isnt used for all the big shows.
Anyone else agree?

Undoubtedly is but is he not with Matchroom and Barry Hearn, think he does some other sports for Hearn as well.

If memory serves John was one of the IBO reps over here at one point may even still be.

He does alot of the darts aswell

He's good craic is John - got a ton of stories and a load of quips to go with them.

Only been in his company a couple of times but enjoyed them.

Oh yes, a very good MC to boot

Not in Pass or Burdis' league, in my opinion.

John is very much with Matchroom hence doing Hearn's shows and all PDC darts. He's top dog in the UK.

Was actually thinking about this the other day why Sky just don't push for him to be on all TV shows. Sky can have their own identifiable announcer like Lennon Jnr for Showtime and Buffer for HBO.

John MacDonald is excellent, teh best

John McDonald is a class act, nice guy too, Mike Goodhall is quality as well

Top fella is John but yeah he's Matchroom through and through.

great guy got time for the boxers as well

Believe or not, John was in the Paras, after leaving the army about the same time as me, he started doing photography at ringside while being a cabby, genuine nice guy, known him for years, quick witted, helped me out in Uganda when I was ill , top man!! always can tell a funny story,

John is one of the most affable guys around and a good announcer.

Better than Elvis, KevBev and Logan's Bluff.

He's definitely better than Pass in my view. Maybe it's just me but I find Pass has a very droning irritating voice which just doesn't get the crowd worked into a frenzy. The worst announcer for me has to be Gary Logan though. His voice is just too quiet and he doesn't have much of a stage presence. Clearly Buffer and Lennon Jnr are in a league of their own however.

Probably in the minority but I do quite like Thomas Triber when they bring him over. Triber has actually done some commentary for a few small televised events in the states and canada, not the greatest at that - but not the worst either. It would be nice to hear Mike Goodhall or Alan? Hughes back on the box every now and then. Hughes especially was great.

Johns thebest followed by goodhall, pass, wwe guy , Logan , kevbev but yeah buffer and Lennon in league of there own

John is a good guy, and also very good at his job. Top man.
