does anyone remember the welsh heavyweight rudi pika ? someone told me he took his own life over a girl, dont know if any truth in that but i do remember he was a bloody good heavyweight and would of gone onto become a british champion easy,he was a big puncher. he was robbed against bruno in the a.b.a. final if i remember rightly, he beat glen mcrory as a pro and was undefeated too, shame he took his life though.

You might want to check out a previous thread on Pika from a couple of years ago, gives a bit more info on him.

He wasn't robbed against Bruno. It was close but there has to be a winner in amateur boxing and Bruno pulled it out in the last round to make sure it was him.

in my opinion he was robbed as rudi was the far better boxer, close fight but pika beat him by a whisker,he was a better pro than bruno for a start, his record speaks for that. i never rated bruno as he was robotic, lawless and co made sure they never stuck him up against good fighters,he would burn out after 8 rounds !! look at him against jumbo cummins and bonecrusher smith,he could wallop without a doubt but a suspect chin. tyson ruined him and lewis done him,he was the 80,s henry cooper and british public loved him.
