I was just on twitter a minute ago and Smith was going berserk about how Jim watt is an idiot, etc with his commentary.I tweeted him saying that I agreed with Watt in that Muraay was flat tonight,Anyway the guy took offense to this and tweeted something back.I said I agree that Watt goes overboard with his criticism somewhat but that Watt was right tonight that it wasnt a good performance.Anyway then he claims im contradicting myself which i dont think i was as it was a two part answer. Then the guy just starts getting rude! He's got a serious chip on his shoulder and I can see why he's always getting into verbal spats with opponents now!I thought I was overly sensitive but he takes it to the next level!Geez!

I thought he seemed overly agumentative when he was posting here, however, he also came across as pretty intelligent and probably had the best writing skills of any pro that I have seen on a forum.

Oh I agree on that,he's definietly not your stereotypical boxer I guess in the usual sense but he definietly is an overly argumentative guy when i wasnt even taking a pop at him!Ha

he probably spends a lot of time punching people , getting punched in the head ... running long distances at unsociable hours and going hungry in what is the toughest sport around.
I've been around people that have gone thru similar and they can get narky for what you can't even see as a reason.
I tend to cut Smith a little slack here, he has a harder job than most people and I'm sure he's not a bad lad really.

He might be a bit short with people, but at least he is willing to interact with boxing fans on the internet.

Not to worry, Lefty. He only ever talks about running and the Rocky films on that site.

Maybe he took a dislike to you because you don't leave a space after full stops and commas. I don't think he likes that.

Degale looked lovely in that fight. For all his being a knob lately and that fcking stupid thing he does with his arm up in the air after he's won a fight
you really gotta respect the fact that Jimbo Degale went to Paul Smith's backyard, nicked his British bauble (I should be shot for calling the Lord Lonsdale belt a bauble
) in front of a hostile crowd and looked good doing it. Even with his cock-end celebration he does afterwards, ya gotta respect Gegale for that

Paul didnt even give him any credit after that fight though! He basically just implied that it was becausehe boxed poorly.I remember him saying Degale has no power, blah, blah.

i read a lot of Degale's interviews in the run up to that and he had a confidence and an earnestness in what he said. He clearly utterly flogs himself in the gym, so was never gonna be found wanting stamina-wise. And he said that the angles he would use would be too much for Smith to deal with....and he was right. It was a lovely, lovely display of fighting/ boxing against a genuine (tough as nails), Prime Brit champ, away from home.
When Degale used to box Amateur on TV I was never that blown away from the snippets I saw, but he does seem to have a real slickness coming on.
Smith on the other hand was being interviewed at Anfield saying the Scousers were going to "absolutely rape" the Bookies and over the last year or so I've seen Smith involved in more than his share of petty spats with people on Boxrec.....at one point every comment of Smith's seemed to end with a "

".....
Now I'm not saying Smith was always wrong - or right - most times I wasn't fcking interested enough to follow the row
but it certainly don't make Paul, or anyone else, look great when they're in a row every week......So if Smith's gone away for a while he at least is better of not getting involved in silliness on the internet.
Take Jamie Moore......you never see Jamie involved in a row on Boxrec , even though many an opportunity's presented itself if he wanted to.................
(because he knows I'd flog him that's why.........JOKE, Jamie
![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)
)
