Shame Carl couldn't get it to Nottingham but he did try. Looking forward to this fight.

all signs point to Sky showing this one, so all is not lost.

Then hopefully they will air the S6 final too.

Living room. Ward couldn't get a visa sorted to leave his house.

GOmez, I am hearing that the potential venue for a Froch-Ward final depends on whether or not Ward's back garden is available?
Well I heard it will be closer to Wards hometown than anyone else's put it that way.

All this talk of The Garden and Vegas is unfounded.

Plan all along has been to have it at the Garden. As far as I know, they've put a deposit down. That's why the original press conference was there.

It would make sense. Historic venue etc. I would go over to NY for it and I'm sure a lot of people would follow suit.
I have just booked Degale-Groves and will be off to Germany, its going to be an expensive summer.I would have fancied this but its just to much in too short a time frame.I stand to make a few quid should Ward win so would probably feel out of place with the British lot.

I like Froch but surely this being in America was agreed upon in the original contracts. He said himself that if the Kessler fight was in Nottingham then he would have won. Any objective observer saw him lose that so what is he saying? Froch offering the money up shows to me that he is scared of not getting him usual hometown judging. I feel sorry for the fans who won't be able to go to this. But I personally don't think that was his main reason for wanting to fight at home.

Haha, I think it's funny how much people go on about Froch and his hometown judging. There has only been ONE fight where you could reasonably state that the hometown judging might have even affected anything. You guys talk absolute bollocks.

3 of Froch's last 4 fights have been trips away from his hometown, you absolute moron.

After feeling he got robbed against Kessler, a fight he lost, plain as day, he has tried everything to get his following 2 fights at home.

But he has still taken the fights and won 2 out of 3 fights on the road. So that proves he's prepared to go anywhere and fight whoever. So what is your argument? That he WANTED fights in his hometown, well who doesn't?! Common sense, if you can sell out a 10,000 arena in Nottingham why go to a half-empty casino thousands of miles away.

My argument is his offering Showtime money to have it at home was more to find favorable judging that it was to help his fans. Traveling was part of the deal when he signed to fight in the super six, so he doesn't need a thread praising his courage every time he honours the contract he signed.

No you argued:

"Froch offering the money up shows to me that he is scared of not getting him usual hometown judging."

Which is just a pretty outrageous thing to say. If you don't like Froch then fair enough, but if you are gona come up with ridiculous bullshit statements then you are gona get arguments.

Anyway, I stated that in my opinion him wanting this fight at home was more to do with him wanting home town judging than him wanting to help out his fans. I didn't say that he was too scared to fight away from home. Clearly he isn't. But he knows he will get more from the judges at home than away and has tried his utmost to make sure his recent fights have been on home soil.

As the champion I do think the fight should be in England, however he signed the contract.

Considering all the others who've dropped out he probably does deserve some praise.

Love the tourney, shame certain participants jumped out. Hope Froch goes through. Love Glen Johnson too...

Also hope Ward walks onto an Abraham bomb...

I believe his reference to beating Kessler in Nottingham was partly down to the judging and partly due to the excess travelling he had to do to get to Denmark whilst that ash cloud thingy was about

1) This thread is announcing the time and location of his fight, it's not a thread to solely 'praise his courage'

2) Carl should be praised as much as possible for the route and the fights he's taken IMO. Especially afer having to endure the majority of Hattons/Calzaghes etc. careers

"Me, Haye and Amir Khan are putting British boxing back on the global map after a quiet couple of years since Ricky and Joe hung them up."

Will Billy Nelson be after Carl Froch after another clear demonstration of the anti-jock attitude by people in boxing that refuse to mention Ricky Burns

Johnson is tough and won't be easy but I think Carl can do enough to set up a clash with Ward in the final.

Don't blame Froch, its been dubbed a controvesial super 6 - but for me the only thing controvesial about it was Froch vs Dirrell.

Its not nice that Ward has fought at home throughout granted, but so far that 10% home town advantage hasn't been what seperated him from Kessler or Green.
