What are your thoughts on the fight people and please do the poll also..!

No way this should be considered a controversial decision. The only people that think it is controversial were giving Morales too much credit for his work because they wanted him to win or were simply shocked that he wasn't getting destroyed. I had it 116-112 Maidana. There was a lot of back and forths but Maidana started and finished stronger, and I felt he did a little more in most of the rounds.


It was definitely a great fight though and surely exceeded everyone's expectations.

No chance whatsoever that that was a controversial decision.

Fair Decision no doubt but what about that Morales effort.

I for one thought he did not have a prayer and was dreading watching it to be honest but he performed very very well.

The unfortunate thing for me is he will get another fight on the back of that, not sure I want him to step back in again but he will.

100% agree the right man got the nod!

We all thought it was the wrong fight for morales and so it proved.
He wasn't bombed out in a few rounds instead he proved he is 10 times the fighter maidana is and yet still lost simply because maidana was younger,fresher and could work more, morales couldn't have fought any better he was superb.

Does the result take even more away from the Maidana myth?
Did we give too much credit to Khans win over him?

We will prob see Morales finally fed to khan now..

I'd like to see Erik retire now. This is a great fight for him to go out on in my view, as it erases the memory of the recent so so fights and reminds everyone of the fighter he was/is.

Maidana probably did deserve the win but take away that horrible eye injury and you might have had a different result.

Close but clear for Maidana in my book.

Another one where SKY analysis, which was poor, is influencing people. Watch some of the US footage, the case for Maidana is very clear. They count shots thrown, shots landed etc.

I had it 114-114. Moraleshas cemented his reputation as a true legend at times he completely outclassed Maidana, if he could of sustained it he would of embarrassed Maidana, whose reputation will only be dented after that struggle in a fight he really should of dominated.

Yes no doubt at all 5-6 years ago Maidana would have gor smashed to bits

Very close fight. Unbelievable how Morales fought one eyed for the majority of the fight. I was hoping The Great Erik Morales would get the nod, but alas. Great fight, had some loose similarities with Toney-Jirov at times IMO

Had it for Maidana comfortably. Morales just wouldn't go quietly though, fantastic show of heart, absolute warrior to the end.

Draw for me.

Morales is stoic he just does not moan or groan. His eye looked terrible ( ) and he just resolutely got on with the job. Morales is a real throwback; (Maidana does not like those body shots one bit).

FWIW I had it a draw 114 - 114 Morales proved yet again what a great warrior he is

I told my brother and cousin that at the very least Morales would go the distance, if not win.

Maidana is a banger but is wild and crude. He is nothing to write home about
