Cesar Rene Cuenca, is 40-0 with 1 KO. Ranked 25th in the world at Light Welter. Perhaps a future Khan PPV opponent. Primetime (or whomever would be showing it) could keep showing highlights of Cuencas TKO win where his opponent was knocked down twice. They could make him look like a killer.

Anybody know of any other fighters to have won this many fights or more but with the same number of KOs, or none at all?

Thats a crazy record

I came across this guy a couple of weeks back. Unusal record really. Never saw him box to be honest. Least we know he would knock Khan out.

Khan showed a great chin against Maidana.

I decided to check out the Boxrec P4P rankings to see who were the highest rated fighters out there in the Top 100 with under 10 KOs. Interesting results and although it didn't give me what I was looking for it proves that Chisora is one of the most highly rated prospects out there (according to Boxrec anyway) right now.

Sounds crazy but KO's aren't just about power- I always get told i'm really heavy handed but my record says otherwise.... Unless they just mean i'm slow as f*&k

Hitting hard is easy, landing them is the problem!

ha ha ahh thats what they meant.

Sven Ottke was a very light hitter and he was in such a hurry to run away that he often forgot to punch at all. But the judges in Germany understood that he would have punched his opponent if he were not in such a hurry so they used to give him points anyway. DD

i know he's been beat but colin lynes has 34 wins with 12 ko's and he was world ranked

That's a good one. Ottke only had 6 KOs but don't tell Anthony Mundine he's a very light hitter!

This was one of those punches around the temple/ear area where you often see fighters lose their legs, but check out the referee in it - Mundine is completely out cold and motionless yet the ref continues to patiently count right up until ten before he calls off the fight.

Barry Jones was world champ and floored Freitas but his record was 18-1-1 (0Ko's) yet he looked to punch crisply enough and was always in good fights.

That's a great shout Jeff, flooring an undefeated and hard hitting world champion is impressive considering he never stopped an opponent.

Not exactly what your looking for but Fernando David Saucedo is like 40-5 but only stopped 2opponents and never been stopped.

Whenever someone mentions light punchers, the obvious answer is Maxie Rosenbloom. Had an incredible amount of fights but a staggeringly low KO rate.

There are very few consistent 1 punch KO fighters in the world, its like COCO above said. Punching hard is easy, its landing the punch accurately thats the problem.

I once heard a coach say that any fighter that can land 3 decent punches in combination on the target will have a lot of knockout victories. He was right, but its not easily done, you could be practicing for ages with no apparent success when one day it just works and thats it. Boxing is a funny sport like that, its the beautiful science after all, a combination of guts, power, endurance, grace, speed, timing and intelligence.

Another facet of boxing is that you often find that the light hitter is very durable. Wayne McCullough had plenty stoppages on his record but he was a light hitter and you could hit him with a pick axe handle all night but still not stop him.
I think that big punchers often lunge into their punches and when the opponent connects with them on the way in they double the impact and assist the knockout, whereas somebody like Sven Ottke ever leaned into his punches so he was at less risk.

heck, even calzaghe managed to stop 32 out of 46 opponents with moderately heavy slaps.

Tommy Loughran is another. Excellent boxer, often beating bigger men but due to his fragile hands, very rarely ever scoring a stoppage

More recently Chris Byrd didn't have a bad career despite not being able to score a stoppage at the top level
