Was just wondering how everybody anticipates tomorrows Ringside to be? How much coverage/build up of Khan-Mckloskey are we expecting?

I ask because if the Sky-Khan fallout is as big as I have read in some places (Sky pretty much saying that they do not want a Khan fight ever again etc.) then it will be interesting to see how much (if at all?) they preview the fight.

Will also be interesting to hear Adam Smith et al. perspectives/explanations on why the PPV fell through. Will they openly criticise the Khan camp?

They probs won't even mention it to be honest.

Appreciate that this is not the most reliable of sources but there have been a few corners saying that sky are so mad about the whole situation that it is possible.

Wouldnt surprise me if im honest really.

Khan has his mate Audley to thank for the up-turn in quality control as far as PPV goes.

I read other articles which differ to that.

If sky thought khan v mccloskey would sell it still be on they only intersted in money! They made shed loads out of haye fight.

As far as Sky are concerned the fight won't be happening. They'll do their best to hype something up against it. Watch out for a schedule change on Saturday night with a classic re-run of a big fight or something similar to try and stop fans tuning into Primetime

Only real die hards will buy on primetime. Any casual fan or maybe few setious fans will watch barca v real!

A nice little announcement that they're now showing the Berto or Juan Manuel Lopez cards would be handy!

i'm not expecting them to air their private negotiations with the Khan camp. any discussions on the topic will be providing publicity for a rival channel, and Sky editorial policy has always been that if its not on Sky it aint happening. If you tuned into Sky Sports News on a monday evening they would totally ignore a premier league football match taking place on Setanta/ESPN.

I bet Berto vs Ortiz will get added to the Khan fight.

I'll bet if he wins that Khan v Bradley is on sky sports!! No doubt in my mind what so ever!!

I'm sure they just won't even mention it, that's the usual case with these things.

I think they will preview the fight as they would any other "big" fight, see no reason to expect otherwise really, it would be childish and stupid not to mention the fight, would not even be surprised if it gets an excellent preview, could be wrong and teddys may have been thrown but I think Smith and Robinson and the guys have a bit more about them than that.

No doubt someone will bump this if it gets no mention but we will see.

They're not exactly noted for previewing fights they aren't showing though Global. I predict a mention at best under the circumstances, after what appears to be an acrimonious fall out. It would be a good PR move by Sky to take the moral high ground here though, mention the fight and show that they are bigger than all the pettiness.

No chance of a mention imo. Why would they promote a fight for another network given how this whole this has played out?

I reckon the fight gets blanked by Ringside, they'll pretend it doesn't exist

Sky might not work with Khan Promotions again on a PPV, but Amir's promoter is Golden Boy. They can't burn their bridges there. It might mean Amir doesn't box in Britain for a long time, which, considering there are 11 fights on Saturday's bill, means less work for British boxers.

We never expected them to de-PPV a show either Freddy, so you never know. But I hear you.

i say good on smith and sky...this isnt ppv material. less ppvs is a good thing no...we always moan about it...so fine sky told amir to like it or lump it if this happens more it will mean that boxers have to fight on regular sky to get coverage. Do you think Khan should be getting millions for this fight cos i fackin dont. 250 k is fine. But no greed and ego wont allow it. Hope it flops.


I for one am not spending 15 quid for what effectively will be a glorified training session.
