It was a great night of boxing last night showcasing some WA's best up and coming fighters

Cronje was lucky to survive the first round, Tilman hit him some of the cleanest punches and was moments away from getting a standing 8 or maybe even stoppage. When out of no where Cronje landed a punch that knocked Tilman down. The 10 second break gave Cronje just enough time to recoperate and surivive the round.
In the second Cronje and Tilman went toe to toe again, Tilman got a small cut on his eye from a punch and was hit with a huge shot that had him down for the count.
It was an absolute War and probably the most exciting 2 rounds of action you could see.

Matt Garlett did a great job beating Roberto Lerio. It was a big test for Matt as Lerio has been in with some of our better fighters and is far more experienced. Garlett was just to fast and landed with some huge shots. Lerio was game but totally outclassed in the fight.
Garlett is going to be a fighter to watch, He seems to have really learnt from his points loss to Corey Mcconnell, He is puting his punches together well and beoing very patient when in attack. Some of the credit must go to Adam Wills who is doing a great job as a trainer.

Big Daddy Browne had a good win against Henry Taani, Tanni was successful in the early going landing some decent shots on Browne. He made the mistake though of trying to trade with Browne and was KO'd by a massive right hand.

Stevie Wills was far to strong for his Tanzanian opponent. Wills dominated the opening round. In the second Wills landed some hard shots that had his oponent trapped in the corner. Wills was relentless and gave the Ref no choice but to call a holt to the fight.

Victor Oganov had a good win against Walter Papau. Papua was doing well in the first round, Landing some good body rips and had success with his uppercut. He was clearly winning the round before the Oganov landed one of his trade mark power punches. The punch landed around his bottom rib and Walter was in no shape to continue and couldnt beat the count.

Clint Hoskins had a good win against the Tough Brendon Batty. Hoskins controlled the fight and won every round convincinglly, Only Batty's heart kept him in it as Hoskins landed some viscious body shots that almost had finished.

The first fight of the night was a great fight between to guys having there debuts, Jake Moulden from Queensland beat Sherwin Watkins from Perth.
The fight was a great spectical for 2 guys making there debut, Moulden will have a really good future in Boxing, he has a great jab and outworked his Watkins for the win. Watkins had some success in the 3rd round but Moulden was able fight back and take the fight on all 3 cards.

Overall the card was great entertainment, It was really well run and a success for Green Machine. After this show i think next time they will get even more people in to watch and it will be great for Boxing in Western Australia.

Hey lads,
been away a while. great post mate. sounds like a great night. Trying to keep a positive attitude with regards to Oz boxing and cards like this will surely help. Green may have disappointed some/many (eg me) over the last few years but at least he seems to be supporting the sport and putting effort into the future fo the sport.
Also as i look through the list of our sub10 fight fighters there do seem to be a good number of lads who look like they could go futher. Lets hope.
J

Cronje vs Tilyard was one of the most exciting fights ive seen live.

both fighters traded huge bombs in a fight that had the crowd roaring from start to finish with Cronje finally landed a huge shot that sent Tilyard crashing to the canvas unable to get to his feet in the 2nd. Cronje showed the heart of a champion coming back to stop Tilyard after being hit by some big shots during the fight. was a great fight that topped off a great night of boxing for WA. congratulations to Pieter Cronje for winning the IBF pan pacific title in such an entertaining tough fight.

I second that Ben. 2 of the most exciting rounds I have ever seen. The guys sitting next to me were yelling for Tilyard to get....not because the WA crowd wanted him to win but because they didnt want that fight to end.
Pretty good night all round. Decisions went the way they were expected. the two lads on debut were excellent and that fight could have gone either way, but I think the judges got it right.
Mat garlett looked excellent in a big step up. Look forward to June 3 for the next event at the basketball centre.
