The irony of the Khan PPV

I had no interest in paying for the Khan fight.

However, after watching it online, I honestly believe that Roach had no real idea what to do with McCloskey and the Irishman would've turned it on in the later rounds. I'm not a McCloskey fan, I actually really enjoy watching Khan fight, and I didn't really know too much about McCloskey until recently, but he's clearly a tricky customer who was making Khan miss a lot.

If by some miracle there is a re-match, then I'll pay for it, I thought it was a cop out that Khan chose McCloskey just to look good on home soil, but now it looks as though Khan could end up back at square one if they fight again.

Unless it's Bradley next for Khan, then I personally think that a McCloskey re-match is the only decent PPV British TV option for Khan, I think a lot of people in this country would now tune in.

The farce of the Khan vs McCloskey PPV could ironically end up with a Khan vs McCloskey PPV success!

I'm saying that people would be more interested in watching, now that they've seen McCloskey won't be blown away in two rounds. Maybe Primetime could use it as one of their 'Free Shows' to get people registered. Either way, the fact that this is a fight that Khan could potentially lose would get bums on seats, which is something you couldn't say a week ago.

I agree that Roach didn't do a very good job on this occasion (or so it seemed). I also thought McCloskey made him miss a lot and not look particularly good.

But, IMO, there is absolutely nothing on which to base the assertion that he would have turned it on in the later rounds. Khan was starting to improve a bit, if anything.

I can't see many people paying for a re-match based on your logic. Not that it will happen anyway.

That may be, but McCloskey had even less idea what to do with Khan bar make him miss sometimes, he was unable to counter 99% of the fight.

I don't see a rematch ever being made - yes, McCloskey proved that he has some great skills, and I would love to see him come again at world level, but
a) I don't see there being sufficient controversy to warrant a rematch; the score was 60-54 with Khan was on the up, and
b) A rangy boxer who works off the jab against a hands-down counter-puncher who works at range, both lacking serious power? When is that ever going to make for an entertaining fight? 1 out of 10 times at best, surely.

Having said all of that, the decision to stop the fight was utterly disgraceful and I hope that doctor isn't employed again in boxing.

Haven't seen the fight. Wonder what impact the new conditioner had on Khan, or did he look physically the same - guess its hard to measure as the fight only really got going.

How do people think Bradley would do against Khan?

Yes but speed is Khan's big tool, and in my opinion he was definately beginning to tire. McCloskey wasn't tired and he'd have found countering much easier when Khan has heavy arms.

Look, Khan probably would have gone on to win, but point is that we've seen him fight with the accuracy of De Gale (all arm and glove shot's with the pundits claiming great accuracy!) so it maybe an intresting re-match.

If I was Amir Khan I probably would not take the fight against John Murray as that is a high risk low reward fight as Murray is tough as hell and would really be pumped up to show what he can do on the world stage and would drag Khan into an all out war and possibly even knock Khan out as Murray has got plenty of dig in his punches. I too had no interest in wanting to watch the Amir Khan-Paul McCloskey fight live as most likely to be on Youtube in a week or so for me to watch and score and look at that cut, and I am sure that the contraversy over the cut McCloskey has probably drummed a few more buys on replay so everyone can see what caused Hearn to do his nut in.

A few points to be made here. Khan said that we wouldnt be fighting in England for a while & that rules out a McCloskey fight rematch out as there is no way in the world that it would sell in America.
Maidana V McCloskey anther fight that wont happen. Maidana wouldnt leave America to come here & fight for peanuts & as above the fight would never be made in America as it wouldnt sell as Paul is a virtual unknown.

I thought Khan's tits wobbled a bit morethan in his previous fight, but not sure what that means really - he weighed the same.
