Looking forward to it & wishing Gealey all the very best, even tho he's a Tassie prick & not true & true Aussie.
Hoping he can land KO punch......'cos I don't trust Sauerland & IBF as far I could throw them

I am awaiting a reply from Mainevent re May 8. I cant see why some type of discount should not be offered if someone was to purchase both events. I have tried tabling this with Mainevent before but just got shrugged off. I expect the same again !!

And once again, unable to offer any discount due to dealing with different promoters etc etc etc etc etc...exactly what I expected but nevertheless frustrating !!!

I would have thought that is a fair response. I mean if the promoters wont get together to package the fights there is a lot that main event can do unless it wants to pay for the discount itself, which would not be great business practice

they'd be making more money if they did. their loss.

Yeah, I guess instead of getting two good fight cards on the same day for a discounted rate of $55-$60, the average punter will just go to the pub and watch the fights.

i would normally pay, but i'm not paying for both. don't enjoy being taken for a sucker, thats all.
i'll go to the club for lunch to watch pacman beat the daylights out of shane unfortunately for him, lol.

mainevent have already paid for it. They know what they have to charge to make profits etc. having two different promoters of the event should mean absolutely nothing. 50 bucks for both cards makes them more money that a viewer getting one on at home and then streaming or going to the pub to watch the other. A discount would make good business practice in my book.

Maybe you are right. I always thought it was on a purchase basis, ie like if it is a $50 fight, main event get $30 for every buy and the promoters get $20 for it, or if it is cheaper, main event get $15 and the promoters get $15. Thefore any reduction would have to be agreed with the promoters otherwise it would be coming directly out of Main Events cut??
If you are right and main event just pay a 1 off fee to show the fight I see your point.

hey lads, just wondering if any of you have a link to foxtel venues that have bought the broadcast of geales fight. i know many that are doin Pac/Mosley but have seen no advertising for Geales fight and seeing as he is not a big name (yet) whether any pubs will be doing it. Used to have a link but damned if i can find it. Cheers.

I sent an email to Main Event last night, asking them to provide me with a short list of venues in each capital city (1 central, 1 east, west, north, south)
I explained the reason for it, and used my Boxrec editor's email. Hopefully, I'll get a reply tomorrow or Tuesday.

I doubt many pubs or clubs would be open at 4:30am let alone willing to stump up for a PPV at that time...
