It would be for Bob Fitzimmons and his mngmnt team to decide whether they would allow the Hall of Fame to be associated with his name. He is bigger than Fame itself, though the Hall may want to be taken along the Fitzimmons express, for a ride.

Bob is after all a Lonsdale recipient. Any "Fame" vendor should simply pray that Fitz allows his name to be associated with it.

Lonsdale recipents ARE simpugilistic ICONS. Any association of his name within "HOF" circles would simply be expected, assumed, taken for granted and purely superflous.

He was the Last WBC Champion (and as such, keeps the belt)
Original WBU Champion
Prizefighter Champion (Week 10)

Individual Titles:
X1 time IBF Champion (Week 13) - took title of Hagler.
X1 time WBC Champion (Week 17) - took title of Cerdan.
X1 time WBU Champion (Week 7)

Though I would also add that there is another fighter which I would rate as the best of the Middleweights.

How did Bob Fitz compare against the other fighters? Were Jones, Hagler, Greb not better? We can't induct everyone if so.

Upon reading the stats thread. How can anyone justify entering Fitzsimmons into the HOF when there are a good 5 or so fighters who won multiple world championships??

The HOF is for stand-out fighters. Simples. How will it look if we've got 5 fighters getting entered this year from a half-season?

Hagler was more succesful... I'll be very surprised if Hagler doesn't get an official HOF vote thread.

No. His manager never kept proper records of his fights unlike Charley Burley whose stats and fights are lined up for other Simmers to see in the appropriate thread. If Fitz gets in, Burley should be awknowledged too.

And Crease you are completley Wrong, Marvin Hagler was not the Best fighter, He was beaten up and broken down by Fitszimmons and was never the same fighter after there fight.

I might also add only beaten once as a result of KO, the rest on Cuts.

In a fight he was winning easily, and cut. That was also the last week Freddie was in our gym.

BenK your fighter owns the Lonsdale....and your fighter backed down the first eligible super fight rival. A fight that would have consolidated the titles had it happened. But your fighter made it clear he was ready to go.

Fitz does not need the HOF and those who vote against him are nonsensical haters.
