The May 7th International Prizefighter has got the 8 boxers needed for the tourny. Looking at the list shows that there are some HEAVY hitters.
1. Kevin Johnson- 24 (KO 10)- 1 (KO) - 1
2. Michael Sprott- 36 (KO 17) - 15 (KO 8)
3. Konstantin Airich- 16 (KO 13) - lost 3 (KO 2)
4. Mike Perez- 13 (KO 10)- 0 (KO 0)
5. Fres Oquendo- 32 (KO 21) - 7 (KO 2)
6. Ty Fields- 45 (KO 41) - 3 (KO 3)
7. Gregory Tony- 14 (KO 12) - 1 (KO 1)
8. Juan Carlos Gomez- 49 (KO 37) - 2 (KO 2)

This is going to be a cracker and it is going to change the complete format of prizefighter as they will all go international from now on in.

I think Gomez is better than everyone else. If he can deal with the format, I think he should win. I would give Oquendo the next best shot, followed by Sprott. I don't think Johnson will win under this format, and I haven't seen enough from Perez to give him more of a chance than these other guys.

So am I. I just don't think the big hitters will make a dent on the likes of Oquendo, Gomez and Johnson.

It will be interesting to see how the bookies have it. Perez will be a good price ad imagine. Johnson maybe the fav?

if this is the final line-up its going to be terrific.
has anyone mentioned the purses??
theres no way half of these boxers are turning up to such a strong tourny for only £3k if they fail to win the first round.
and no matter who draws who , i think most of these are 50/50
IM EXCITING

My vote is for sub No 2 (Audley) to beat sub No 1 (Danny Hughes) in the final, then (as the only two-time Prizefighter champion) challenge Haye to a rematch, blaming tactics in their first fight

Can anyone explain why so many are picking Perez? To be honest, I am not too familiar with him, so I'm not sure why he is such a strong favorite on here.

Exactly, I share your cynicism!
A really solid, exciting line-up but sod's law always dictates that a few fall by the wayside. Then before you know it, Danny Hughes, Alex Ibbs and Dave Ingleby are on the rota

Hard to tell what he's made of. I've seen him fight a few times but it's usually blasting out journeymen so who knows what he'll be like in a real scrap? He also has a history of disappearing off the schedule very quickly so let's just hope he makes to fight night.

Perez has been off the radar in Ireland
but hes good
i said from the start he was better than fellow Cuban Solis (and recent events have only confirmed my opinion)

I think the format will suit Perez, very quick and busy. Mind you some of his opponents have been garbage though. This one was particularly woeful:

I cannot think of one single fraction of an aspect in which Airich has even a fraction of a chance at a fraction of success.

He's going down HARD at some point. How long he lasts depends on the draw, but no way he makes it through three contests in this field without getting chopped down in dramatic fashion.

Yes, he's a talented chap but he hasn't fought anyone like the guys he'll be meeting in PF. Could be this is his breakthrough night, but it's a huge step up, whoever he gets.
