Prescott Would Take Khan Again (REVISITED)

I've just Bradis Prescott's last fight against a limited opponent and I'm more convinced than ever that he would knock Khan out again in a rematch. Any thoughts folks?
Did you see his fight from Friday?alexpaterson wrote:I've got to disagree with you here, I feel Khan under Roach now knows what to do when he gets hurt, move before he would fire back but now he's smarter. His defence is better and his offensive is tighter under Roach, whereas Prescott has been shown to be crude, very bad defencively. I think Khan would keep a tight guard work everything off the jab and bring in his combinations. Khan late stoppage after completly outclassing Prescott imo
Yeah, I'd be interested to know what he saw that convinced him more than ever.crusader wrote:Why are you now convinced more than ever that Prescott would beat Khan again? As you said, he beat a limited guy last night, and that hardly proves anything to me.
What I saw was the perfect style to beat Khan. Prescott has matured and if you have any douibts, watch how he blasted him out last tine. Styles make fights and Prescott has proven he has the style once.Collins2000 wrote:Yeah, I'd be interested to know what he saw that convinced him more than ever.crusader wrote:Why are you now convinced more than ever that Prescott would beat Khan again? OK, so basically it had nothing to do with what you saw last night Thanks for clearing that up.keithmoonhangover wrote:What I saw was the perfect style to beat Khan. He showed a superb jab, good movement and a solid defence.crusader wrote:He caught Khan cold about 30 seconds into the fight. I don't think that proves that he has "the style".
I also don't really see how Prescott's performance last night shows how he has matured. As you said, his opponent was very limited. If he had dominated a top opponent in the same way, I could see your point.
It had a lot to do with what I saw. I watched the fight and I was impresseb by what I saw.Collins2000 wrote:OK, so basically it had nothing to do with what you saw last night Thanks for clearing that up.keithmoonhangover wrote:What I saw was the perfect style to beat Khan. Why? Because styles make fights. The Dark Destroyer wrote:Why? He fought a poor opponent. Kevin Mitchell schooled him, and Prescott has fought pushovers since, I'll watch when he fights someone worth fighting.
I saw a superb fighter. As I said, great jab, good movemnt and solid defence. Tne guy hits like a ton of bricks when he connects cleanly, which he would do at some point in twelve rounds. The Dark Destroyer wrote:No, why were you impressed?keithmoonhangover wrote:Why? Again, he showed those things against a very limited opponent. There is a reason why he didn't look nearly as good against Mitchell and Vasquez--they are better than mediocre.keithmoonhangover wrote:I saw a superb fighter. That's true but it can be misleading too if you ignore all the other factors as you appear to be doing.keithmoonhangover wrote:Why? Because styles make fights. The Dark Destroyer wrote:Why? I'm not ignoring the facts mate. I just think Prescott would get to him and hurt him. He showed a hell of a jab in that fight. Khan has improved and of course I agree, but he can still be hit and Prescott has a good chin, so he cathes him.Collins2000 wrote:That's true but it can be misleading too if you ignore all the other factors as you appear to be doing.keithmoonhangover wrote:Why? I think there is a big gulf in class between them now.
If they fought right now (probably impossible as Prescott can't possibly have any ranking based on his record since the Khan fight), I think Khan outclasses him, easily.
Sure, if Khan stood in front of him with his hands down and his chin out, then he'd be in trouble. Just can't see that happening.

Any more or is that just twicce in the entire history of boxing?Collins2000 wrote:A perfect example of where a heavy handed guy caught and finished a much better fighter very early on but then got completely outclassed in the rematch when he couldn't land his sunday punch:

Ah, you wanted me to list them all did you.keithmoonhangover wrote:Any more or is that just twicce in the entire history of boxing?Collins2000 wrote:A perfect example of where a heavy handed guy caught and finished a much better fighter very early on but then got completely outclassed in the rematch when he couldn't land his sunday punch:

It is rare for a fighter to get stopped in the first round of a bout that was not an obvious mismatch ahead of time, so there are few examples to work with (although Collins has listed some of them for you). In cases where this does occur rematches don't often happen, which narrows things down even more. There have been, however, plenty of cases where a fighter has dominated a rematch after being caught and stopped in a preceding bout (think of Lennox Lewis's defeats).keithmoonhangover wrote:Riddle me this.... Khan would rather take on the division's top fighters.keithmoonhangover wrote:We'll. Never find out, coz Khan doesn't have the guts to give him a re match.
