Lamar could box well when he had to and I know for a fact he had EXTREMELY HEAVY HANDS...Also, for what its worth, Roy Jones Sr. once told me that he thought Lamar was going to poutbox Gerald...remember, Ralph Ward and Dennis Milton both outboxed and outslicked him as pros...his power couldnt find them...

Diagnosed with epilepsy around that time, and if memory serves retired to get out of a contract with Warren. Warren ended up sueing him for libel which Marsh won. In between all this someone shot Warren, Marsh did 10 months on remand (think its jail to the yanks) but got off at the trial.

Ohba died from a car accident in Tokyo while he was still WBA flyweight champion. As I recall, it was a head-on collision.

Merritt had a brief comeback after he got out of prison in 1976, and then got involved with drugs. For a time, he was living on the streets in Las Vegas, panhandling outside the big Don King promotions as King's "first fighter."
