After attending the liverpool show wednesday I was shocked at the standered of the judging, The smith simpson fight was close I thought simpson had done enough to win but for terry oconner to have the score like he did it makes boxing look dodgy on tv, but earlier in the night I watched Terry carruthers box and he won every round for me, bussier clean shots, and a lot stronger, then the ref lifts both fighters hands, if that ref thought that was a draw he must av been lookin other way,its wrong, these judges or refs makin these blatent mistakes need fining or suspending because all it is doin is making boxing look bad

Totally agree there. Fair enough the crowd may roar every time the home boxer lands a shot, whereas the away boxer doesnt get that. But the referee should know what he is looking for & ignore the crowd!
The amount of times when I have seen the away fighter win comprehesively but know that the home fighter will be given the nod (or a draw) is huge.

Thanks steelcity might sound mad but its comments like these from respected trainers that actualy keep the like of carruthers heads up.
I know people knock journymen for not trying but can you blame them when they see things like this, Terry got cut pushed himself to the limit and realy strived for the win and got this result he could just have easliy moved round took his money and gone home.

What do these refs think they are doing for novice pros ?
Do they think itl make them go to the gym and try to improve by getting an undeserved result ?
Its the opposite they will think thats all they have to do and not try to improve there game.

No mate; it is a wonder that they keep on trying at all. It must be something knowing that as well as the other fella trying to do you in, if you win you lose on points. It is plain wrong.

you don't have to thank me pal its what I saw and I made a point of watchin that fight as they were camerons weight, everbody in the venue felt the same, the other kid was trying but never landed anything that caught your eye,a few jabs mite av landed but nothin in them,terry looked stronger fresher and landed some great shots,all I can say is keep doing the same and his fortune will change, he actually reminded me a bit like luke Robinson a toop lad from wakefield,
