So when he was with Allegedly the 120 day rule wasn't applied, then as he soon as leaves it gets applied in order for Allegedly's fighter to get a title shot.
Nice one.

Scandelous if true.
But unsurprising.

As I said in the piece, it could have been that Brook was given an extension to accommodate Jennings as that fight was off and on as many times as Kate Middleton's knickers were last night.
But if it was, it wasn't made public and Brook didn't know...he's never heard of the rule. I can't find it either.

I guess this act kind of confirms why fight fans and the media regard the sanctioning bodies of this sport with utter contempt and mistrust.

Does it matter? It's a nothing title anyway.

I would guess there's someone, somewhere, who is walking around actually un aware that he is, in fact, a WBO champion.

I couldn't care less.
A young prospect not fighting for longer than 6 months is a joke

He said it himself it was a bauble he was never going to fight for that world title anyway.
The intercontinetal belts are a joke. Lonsdale, Commonwealth, EBU, WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and the ring titles are the only belts of substance. And thats too many as it is. Id rather see someone with the EBU title than the intercontinental made up belt.
If you have the EBU title you're the best in europe - what are you if you have the inter c belt? could be anything.

I think there must have been a mistake here. I think someone must be a bit mixed up and Kell is actually still the champion.
I mean, Frank W has mentioned this news in his article in The Sun today. But this cant be right because how would Frank know that Kell had been stripped when Kell hasn't even been told the news himself? It doesn't make sense so i reckon there must be an innocent explanation

Maybe the WBO will get a higher sanctioning fee for Gavin-Muttley than they'll get from Brook? Just a thought.

The fights already build as being for the intercontinental title and we all know the WBO stands for Warren Boxing Order - so as i agree its seems like incorrect info it doesnt suprise me in the least.

Brook said in the piece that he'd fight Frankie Gavin for it. I would love to see that fight.

Surely the most sensible solution. Not going to happen with Wazza at the wheel though, is it?

the belt means nothing he still holds his ranking and if he beats n'dou he's looking to step up to fight guys like ortiz. Which is good to hear.

C'mon you cynics, how couldn't Gavin (not fought anyone above English Title level) vs Muttley (shot to bits 18 months ago) be a viable fight for a title that gets you a world top ten ranking.....I look forward to Muttley v Pacquaio.
Gavin's a cracking prospect and Muttley is a 'name' I guess, but this is a lousy fight and although there's no need to rush Frankie, he's way above this ability wise.....just not world top ten just yet.....
Pathetic treatment of Brook. Making rules as we go....utter pish.

I was in my local yesterday and received an email on my raspberry to say I was the British Masters WBO Intercontintal Heavyweight Champion of the Universe but if I did not defend the title before closing time I would be stripped - my lady companion thought this was a good wheeze but sloped off before the weigh in!

I'm not sure that 'they' are making rules up as they go along but the rules seem to be interpreted and enforced in a pretty uneven manner. Mr warren has obvious clout and has helped make the WBO a pretty respected organisation in the UK (+ made them a lot of money in sanctioning fees).

It's the fight the fans have been crying out for - I look forward to hearing Johnny Nelson describe it as a "mouthwatering prospect".

Yes it does but he had the better of it when he was with Mr warren. That meant that others were on the shitty end of the stick. You can't really moan when you've had it good through rules being overlooked and then lost out when they are enforced. It is either crap or it is not; play fair or don't moan when everything doesn't go your way.
