Good luck to him tonight, defending his European title in Germany against Gutknecht. Tough fight for him but winnable, hopefully he keeps the belt in Britian and gets a home defence next! Best of luck.

Is he still with Hennessy? Is this why he's fighting away again and not on mainstream TV?

IMO could see this being similar to the Clev fight. Hope not though and fair play to the boy for going over there to defend - hope he does it.

edit; maybe not the multiple knockdowns but a similar game effort resulting in a late stoppage

Does anyone know if this will be on German TV (or TV anywhere for that matter) - If so, I'll avoid the result and download it tomorrow.

Can't agree sorry, Dodson lost three title fights at 12st and since moving up to 12st 7lbs he's won two three rounders against a four fight novice and a traihorse with 25 defeats on his record

Even in this day and age that doesn't justify an EBU title shot, the best he deserves is a British title eliminator

mcintosh done nothin to deserve his shot! he held the english tittle thats all!

plus dodson was going to win prizefighter only for the cuts! then what could you have said to that ?

I dont think Dodson would have won PF,hes beat a journeyman&a 4fight novice thats all in years!!
Dont get me wrong i think it would be a decent scrap

It's not like a Scouser to get all defensive and jump down someone's throat :D

Dodson needs to beat a few at the weight before you talk about challenging for this title.

Re: Prizefighter, the facts are he did not win this (although even if he did, in my opinion this should not entitle him to a straight shot at the European title).

Anyway, this thread is about Macintosh. He went to France to win the title and has now gone to Germany to defend it. Fair play and good luck to the lad.

Premier Sports are rubbish at advertising their fights that are showing, I only knew this was on from a forum post a couple of weeks ago.

MacIntosh was actually landing some nice shots on Gutknecht, who looks very average! I would be shocked if Bellew isn't his next opponent! MacIntosh is so much more effective when he's flat footed with a high guard working off the jab and bringing in combinations, he started getting caught when he was loading up wild right hands or silly hooks, his defence needs work but he definitely has the talent. Just hope he gets back to fundamental boxing because IMO he's better when he does it.

Shame he lost, think he's done really well, considering didn't he start boxing late, and did seem a bit of a gobshite n bit of a flash type, showed a lot of grit and heart coming back from that loss to Cleverly and getting down to business the quiet way, winning the euro title away from home

Thats about right.

With regards the Dodson validity.

He was a former British champion, albeit at 168lb and was ranked from time to time.

He was offered a WBO world title shot against Stieglitz too.
