Sorry if it’s already been mentioned, although I haven’t noticed another thread.

I see that Robert Helenius V Martin Rogan is out for purse bids by the end of May. Does anyone have any ideas if there is a chance it will come to Belfast – is Rogan still with allegedly?

I reckon that would pack the Odyssey Arena if Brian Peters (his manager) gets it, as Rogan is a very exciting and ballsy fighter to watch and I reckon his come forward would give Robert Helenius a rough night, but I still feel that Helenus will have too mich power and class for him.

Very painful night for Rogan, Helenius to bludgeon him to a stoppage before 5.

Really good fight! Helenuis isn't unbeatable sure he got a cracking win over Peter. But he looked average against Gregory Tony before sparking him, Rogan's aggression and relentless style will give him some real problems. Maybe I'm underrating Helenuis but I give Rogan a big chance of an upset here!!

I fear that Rogie may have missed the boat with regards the goodwill and support he had behind him. Speaking to my Belfast boxing fan mates and there seems to be a general level of apathy.

This should be a good watch.

If the Rogan that bludgeoned Skelton shows up, Helenius is in for a tough night! Helenius is over rated IMO. A plodding, overweight and past his best Peter was giving him problems before he found the big left hook (it was level on one the cards I think).

Think Rogan would get stopped within 4 in this one.

And imo that is still more impressive than anything Rogan has ever done. Peter was still a top 12 fighter when Helenius beat him

If this happens Rogan is getting dominated and knocked out.

Yeah, I think Rogie will give it a good go but, although I don’t think Helenius is anything special, he is a level above Rogan. I can see the referee stepping in late on as Rogan will have taken too much punishment by that point.

It's going to be a very painfull night for Martin. He is custom made for Helenius.

Helenius is big & strong but sloppy and uncordinated. It was quite a brave to put him in with Peter but it looks like the Klitschko shellackings took there toll and the timing of the match (and that last accurate peach of a left hook were perfect).

The Rogan who could out-Skelton Skelton would have a decent chance but the older non-Breen trained version who was huffing and puffing in the Sexton rematch will get battered.

I agree with you guys. A technical boxer will be Helenius's undoing, imo. Someone like Eddie Chambers might be able to do it. Rogan will be beaten up.

yep. helenius has it all ahead of him. more at stake for sauerland, with a potential world beating heavyweight, the bigger promotional force.

i would rather see helenius vs dimitrenko/lyahkovich/.. and perez vs rogan.

if he learns how to effectively use his size and each he will be a formidable post klitschko super sized heavyweight. in his early days, lennox lewis, the gold standard for big methodical heavyweights, often looked like a toddler learnign how to walk. you never know, helenius may make the grade, and with the K2s near the end, there is far less risk if being "exposed."

this will be a interesting fight and will probley be for helenius's EU, WBO and WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight titles.

brian peters will try and get it to ireland but i suspect it will be in germany.
i think rogan has the power to k.o helenius but i cant see it.
it was be a great victory for martin as the EU title will get him a full EBU title shot and the WBO and WBA inter-continental title would springboard him up the world rankings.
i recken martin ahould really make a go of it and it could pay off.
but although helenius is limited it would be a big ask to take this titles.

Helenious is a beautiful stand up boxer in the gym, but he sometimes goes AWOL during his fights, to then pull a surprise out of the bag.

Against Rogan, he will have a tough-guy opponent right in front of him - and if the Nordic nightmare boxes him long, he would make a mess of Rogie for sure.

Would be great if Rogan can win this and get a World Title shot. His style of swarming aggression is exciting to watch. I wonder if Helenius can handle the bodyshots that Rogan being the shorter man will use. Now we know why Rogan refused the Prizefighter second time round. This fight will be worth seeing. Come on Rogan!

This would almost certainly take place in Germany or even Finland. Helenius has really come into his own over the past year and Rogan has slipped. I see nothing other than a painful evening instore for Rogan. Helenius has beaten better than Rogan already.
