It's a really interesting story, the chap whose site it is was picked to fight for GB in the 1968 olympics but the ABA wanted to send over Terry Waller instead so concocted a story about how the gentleman whose website it is wouldn't be able to deal with the Mexican altitude - another sly, nasty, political move that messed up another boxing career!

Did you box any of the locals Eric? There are some tasty civvy amateur gyms around the Nord Westphalia area! (As well as the various army teams Kings, RCT, Green Jackets, RRF, Queens etc)

Is there any Gyms in the Mulheim/Essen/Duisburg area?

I'm working out in that area at the moment.

Check out also any 'TSV' clubs where they usually have a boxing gym.

I can see a young Terry Marsh in there. The best Army boxer ever is Roger Maxwell.
