Just looked at the results of Belshaw's last three fights. Is he a bit suspect about the jaw?

Looks like he just stepped out of his depth.

Still it's not like Australia has ever had any depth at heavyweight, so he ought to bag a win or two if he hangs around here long enough.

Belshaw is pretty terrible. There is a good chance that he gets knocked out by both Browne and Sio.

Yeah, I'm not suggesting he is the 2nd Coming, but he's at least as good as anyone Browne & Sio have beaten, probably better.

He hasn't had a fight for a good while though, hope he's not just here for the warm weather and the cold beer.

:D

What are you assuming? That Belshaw will be killed and cremated?

No I've seen the aussie heavyweight scene - there'll be no cremating or killing, He'll get sparked a couple of times and then get a couple of wins against island and kiwi journeymen and then probably pop-up in N.Z.

I think he must be, he went missing from the british fight scene after his 3 big defeats against let's face it good opposition and next thing he's got 3 fights lined-up in Melbourne, well Victoria. I reckon he thought it's either be a bouncer in britain or give boxing another go in Oz. If that fails I know which side of the world I'd rather be a bouncer in.

He's only fighting prelims. His first opponent (Browne) won't be worried by Belshaw's height. One of his wins was against John Szigeti who is 6'8".

The bill tomorrow night looks a good one you going? (Idon't know if you even live near or in Melbourne) I saw Yannick in his last fight in Auckland, He looked good until his opponent turned it into a farce.

No. I am a Sydneysider. Going out to dinner tomorrow night, might catch some of the fights on TV after I get home.

Met Scott Belshaw at Steve Kerr's amateur promotion at the Bentliegh club a few of weeks ago, nice guy and is keen to have a run in our domestic scene. OK he's been stopped a three times but he brings something to the table in 14 fights experience in the UK, not to mention a much needed addition to the pool of fighters, he should be welcomed. It will be interesting to see how he goes tomorrow night, some would think a bit of a hard first up fight, and on short notice, but I have it on good authority that he has been sparing Alex Leapai and holding his own, and most recently, Ben Edwards and sure earned Ben's respect.

Don't be silly if you read my post after I was trying to be polite The aussie heavyweight boxing scene is crap! F#ck I was trying to be polite. Tyson Fury,David Price,Dallas - certainly Dereck Chisora, even Rogan and Sexton would piss all over anything from australia, I'm not sure wilson and big bob might prove me wrong. Your like a giggling school girl. Goodluck mr Belshaw

Scotty got stopped in the second round by Big Daddy, didn't embarrass himself however, dropped Lucas Brown in the First in what was a toppsy turvy affair.

After last night's effort he will need some luck. After being given a knockdown late in the first from a rabbit punch he was knocked down twice in the second.
He got up from the second but his spinning eyes convinced referee Bulner to stop the fight with no argument from Belshaw's corner.

Did anyone else notice the shake of the head? I don't think Belshaw wanted to continue either.

Some punches thrown by both men that looked just a little bit powerful

I think Belshaw could make a good win-win-loss-win-loss type record with our heavies.

Belshaw was clearly beaten. He wasn't silly enough to endanger his health any further.

I'm not going to lie, Belshaw wasn't overly impressive even though he held his own in the first round.

I love watching Browne fight but last Friday showed me that he is by no means unbeatable. I hope he continues on stepping up the comp and giving it his all because it will be interesting to see where he ends up and I'm sure we'll all enjoy the journey, wherever that might lead...

I noticed Sio is no longer listed as Belshaw's next opponent. Anyone know if that fight is still going to happen? If not then maybe Kirby or Edwards can use Belshaw as a punching bag.
