In this months Fighting Fit, the guy who wrote the Groves piece, Elliot Worsell, works for Hayemaker too i think.

He does indeed, all the Hayemaker press releases come from Elliot. Good lad though, BM used him before he 'went official' with Hayemaker (he's had links with them for years).

I just read the article and wanted to come here to say that I thought it was really good. Perhaps the majority of us are being a bit blind, or perhaps not? I can't wait to find out.

I still think this will be easy for DeGale but I hope I'm proved wrong. Groves is by far the more likeable of the two.

Nice article, he's obviously a big Groves fan ( as I am too ) but in doing a very good job of talking up Groves' chances, he tellingly doesn't mention George getting knocked down by Anderson. Now if DeGale had shown any weakness like that, you can be sure we'd have had a few paragraphs on it.

Yes I noticed that Glyn, thought you should have polled the BM staff too, why not. I imagine you tried to get hold of Paul Smith to ask him too ? Be interesting to hear his take on it.

Looking forward to seeing more of the same for the Haye/Wlad fight - a poll like that will come down about 75-25 for Wlad I reckon. Will it be you or GH doing the preview ?

We could have done a staff poll Warrior, you're right — not done that for a while, might be good to start them up again. But no, we didn't ask Smigga, we stuck to trainers exclusively — figured their take on the respective styles and developments would be interesting. The difficulty with polling fighters is that they can very rarely talk without a bias — either they are are linked to one of the fighters promotionally, they're a gymmate, etc. It becomes who they want to win rather than who they think will win. Hence for the Haye fight we've taken a different approach to the poll — when we ran a British trade one first time round though, before David's, ahem, 'bad back', it was vastly in his favour from what I remember, unrealistically so (everyone loves Dave, don't they!). I think we've got round that problem this time. And the Houst has done the preview — and very good it is, too, might I say!

Yes I'd forgoten about the previous poll, and the results did seem out of whack - I doubt the bookies will be making DH favorite. True about the fighters - it's like if you ask a fighter who's the hardest puncher they've ever met -most of the time they'll pick a fighter they've beaten, rather than someone who's actually knocked them out.

Looking forward to the Houst preview. He don't often get 'em wrong !

Could dent the camp's confidence, Adam and David do like to think they're a step ahead of the rest. That said, it might be like when Ryan Rhodes lost for the first time, to Otis Grant, and his stablemate and friend Naz went out and smacked Kevin Kelley the next night even though he was in a state of shock because he believed his and Ryan's (Brendan Ingle) style was impossible to beat on points.

I'm siding with Groves on this one.

He is being chin-checked but getting off the floor to win. His comeback fight against the African was a gimme, but he showed the flair which was lacking in the Anderson fight.

Froch uses Anderson a lot for sparring. He says he can hang with anyone - yet Groves flattened him after getting off the canvas.

Groves passed his test - and I'm yet to see Degale pass any so far. I'm not suggesting he can't but simply being realistic about his level of opposition to date and thus my siding with a more proven fighter.

His record is not as good as Georges and thus he has appeared better and more dominating than he really is.

His punching teqnique does not seem to indicate he is going to mop the floor with Groves, who himself has shown decent power and shot selection in all of his fights.

I think George is going to step up to plate in this one. And his rough rides in fights and sparring have forged a decent fighter.

Cracking article that was, spot on about the power warren has to sway public opinion. For the record my money is on groves.

By the way glyn, how much longer is this issue on sale, I wanna catch the groves degale piece but haven't been able to find it.
