what is boxers wages,
say a maloney fighter in a british title fight at york hall
or a warren wbo inter-continel title fight on a world tilte cark at the m.e.n.
whats the wages id love a insight

There is no set amount
Depends on whats been paid to satge the fight and the amounts split

Maybe £5-10k and £10-20k for those two?
But yeah depends how many tickets you can sell etc.

it would all depend on wether it was televised or not....
say you get a thousand into the York Hall, paying £35 each - that's £30k after VAT to cover all expenses (unless there's additional income e.g. from sponsorship or a cut of the bar), from which you have to hire the hall, pay security, ambulance, refs, mc, lights, pa, advertising etc, which doesn't leave a massive amount to pay a dozen boxers and make a profit.....

I did a thread a few weeks ago on this. A good late notice journeyman can command 2 and half grand. british title fights range from 6 thousand up to 20. or if its a big ticket seller then even more. Journemen tend to be in the 1000 to 1500 range. I know the defending wbu champs back in the day got a minimum fee fo 25,000 for each defence. so the intercontinental titles must be a little less

400k between them for a British title fight. Although they are pretty much selling the PPV.

At a 60/40 split as champion' degale will pocket £240'000. now that is ok for defending your british title. I could handle that.

According to the WBO, Kevin Mitchell got £60K when he fought Katsidis. He has also had plenty of sponsorship deals over the last few years.The fact he doesn't seem to have much is probably down to his ability to manage money, and all the negative influences in his life. I'm sure there are other boxers out there that would have been reasonably set up if they had had the same paydays. I'm not trying to have a dig at the guy. I hope he makes a good comeback, otherwise it's a great loss of talent.

james cook was offered less money to fight for a world title than he was getting defending the european title ? steve roberts was getting massive money defending the wbf title and he had 10 defences

Garry Lockett used to get 25,00 for each WBU defence. When you have a family the paper titles are a total blessing

60K - 25% (10% trainer 15% manager) = 45K
45K - miscellaneous training fees e.g. sparring partners, travel, hotels (I think he trained abroad for a while?) lets say 5K = 40K
40K - 40% (tax) = 24K (depending on how much he earned for his previous fight(s)/work in that tax year, some of the tax may have been at 20% rather than 40%)
I would suggest the above may well be a low estimate of overall deductions from his gross 60K. Still a very nice pay day but it was almost certainly his best one by some margin and he's not fought since. 'Turnover for vanity, profit for sanity' - always remember the figures thrown around are almost always gross and they get chipped down a lot.
Some managers take there full 25 per cent and you still have to pay a trainer afterwards

I'm sure they all have ways of avoiding (not evading) the taxman. Start their own company, pay themselves & wives/parents/siblings minimum wage and then dividends on top
