Have been watching a couple of fights of George, something I've captured onto is his style is very similar to that of Haye. He keeps his hands low and relies on his reflexes as his form of defense, but seems to get hit quite often. His style seems to be a creation of Booth, trying to impersonate the style of Haye.

What do you guys think?

I think he did against Anderson but won't do so against Degale i think his defence will be very tight, but then his offence will suffer from this. Degale will outclass him however he fights IMO

Like Khan before the Prescott fight, I don't quite think George knows what kind of fighter he wants to be (and watching him early on I thought he was the goods) but from what I've seen recently he needs to keep his hands up because he's not got Roy Jones/Naseem Hamed-type reflexes. Far too easy to tag and I'd have steered him clear of Degale until next year after the Anderson fight. Still think he'll give Degale more trouble than Smith did though.

yeah he is & as an am he cloned degale.

does anyone think if darren sutherland was still alive and competing today, that james degale would be fighting him not george groves? especially since he was being hyped up in his first few fights, and he fought degale 5 times in the amateurs and in the olympics as well.

Possibly, but DeGale would still presumably have wanted to win and defend the British title around this point in his career. A DeGale/Sutherland clash would make more sense at European level IMO.

Agreed. he hasnt developed his style yet. I would have also steered him clear of degale for another year. Having said that Groves has the least to loose if he gets beaten. People / pundits dont think he is anywhere near the finished article however they seem to think Degale is not far off it. Groves will come back bigger and better if he looses for a mouth watering potential rematch a couple of years down the line.

Groves talent and potential is certainly there, i just think at this stage in their careers Degale has a big edge.

Having said that Haye said he hasnt been sparring with groves for this fight, but he seems to have had some heavy sparring eith some world class southpaws. He may have learnt his lessons and matured in the gym.
