Apparently GoldenBoy and Arum have sorted out issues regarding Marquez. Top Rank to promote it. No details on weight but anything above 140 lbs (which it undoubtedly will be) won't be competitive.

I can't see Marquez being as friendly as Mosley.

I think Pacquiao wins but for me the weight isn't an issue. Even at superfeather Marquez was outweighed. It's his style that is the main problem for Pacquiao regardless of weight. But another thing that swings this in Pacquiao's favour for me is that as the years have gone by, Marquez has been getting hit more and more in his fights and appears to have slowed down. Pacquiao on the other hand, seems to be getting better.

Superb news! The best fight that can be made for Manny outside Mayweather IMO. Marquez's style will always give Manny problems and I can't see this time being any different, Pacquiao hasn't changed much as a fighter it's just his popularity and exposure have risen. He will always look a million dollars against the right opponent (Hatton, Cotto, Diaz etc) but won't against Marquez. I think the weight will be an advantage to Manny and Marquez has slightly regressed lately becoming more hittable and likes a fight more now, which could be his downfall I hope he keeps sensible early doors against Manny and works behind the jab bringing across that great straight right! Should be a cravker

Not above 135. The only realistic competitive fights are Floyd or Martinez around (M at 156).

Pacman can't make 135 anymore, by both his own and Roach's admission, so even if it was 140 Pacman would still have the in-ring weight he is at 147. It's a moot point.

I agree about the weight making, it's just as a result it's difficult to see a competitive fight above 135. I also believe Pac will want to make a statement in this fight both because of the history with Marquez and to make up for the Mosley love-in.

Ignore the Martinez comment. Purely wishful thinking on my part. He's too big, but I'd love to see Pac give it a go!
